Calam05 Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 (edited) hey I'm just wondering if anyone here is an install guru and can tell me what these wires are for. does the power for the siren come straight from a 12v source? thats what I'm thinking, its the battery back up siren. and I'm not too sure what to wire the other 2 up to. Mmm Boost Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 hey I'm just wondering if anyone here is an install guru and can tell me what these wires are for. does the power for the siren come straight from a 12v source? thats what I'm thinking, its the battery back up siren. and I'm not too sure what to wire the other 2 up to. From memory, the IGN wire gets a feed from the key ON position. GND ARM is just for add ons you want to activate by relay, so in a standard install don't worry about it. Not sure about the siren though. Quote
SLO-030 Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 (edited) the siren power is for the internal battery the siren has as its a battery back up siren, so it goes straight to a un switched 12+volt supply (mine goes directly to the positive battery terminal) . This meaning that if someone decides to disconnect the battery as a way to over ride the alarm the sire has its own power to jeep it going till you disarm it. the one i have will apparantly go for 8 hrs :y: Edited January 12, 2009 by SLO-030 Quote
Calam05 Posted January 12, 2009 Author Report Posted January 12, 2009 all in and sweet except for the ignition wire. was poking around today but had no idea what to connect it to. Quote
SLO-030 Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Tap it into the wire going from the barrel to the fuse board. Quote
Calam05 Posted January 13, 2009 Author Report Posted January 13, 2009 is the purpose of the ign wire to send a charge to the alarms brain just to let it know when the car has been started?? so i should just connect it to something that sends a charge when i crank it? Quote

Calam05 Posted January 14, 2009 Author Report Posted January 14, 2009 found a nice one today. all thats left is conencting the 4 immobilizer wires, i know where 1 set is going, gotta pick out another thing to shut off then ill be complete. Quote
SLO-030 Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 i used the immobiliser to cut off the power to the starter and the coil on my tonner. if i had an electric fuel pump on it i would have cut power to that too. Mine was a 3 point imobiliser (2 internal and 1 external relays) only using 2 at the moment. Quote
