mookie Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 I'd love somebody to be able to do the full conversion but at this stage i'm only concerned about getting the rear diff mounted and the engine and gearbox sorted. i don't care if its in the north or south. Thanks mookie Quote
tas_ae71 Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 hi mookie. what work exactly do you want doing? Quote
Teddy Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 QUIET ! He's busy drifting a volvo. F*CKING CHAMPION :P Quote
mookie Posted January 8, 2009 Author Report Posted January 8, 2009 i'm looking at doing a straight 6 conversion and f series rear end. my main stuggle is going to be making it handle i think Quote
tas_ae71 Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 (edited) is it going to be road registered? engineered? i can help with brakes/susy! they can be made to handle but you will loose that natural balance that they have because you will be adding extra weight and moving it forward.. "AZZ customs" in hobart should be able to help out with fabrication work. engine mounts, gearbox mounts, exhaust, tunnle mods. i maybe able to help out with the F series diff.. maybe you should weigh up the 6cyl that you have in mind against say an sr20, ca18, 3s, 13b etc. or even a 3tgte which would be a very easy conversion.. tas_ae71 Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 also there was that ae71 for sale in hobart with a half done 2jzge converson.. i think it was for sale on boost for about 2-2.5k Quote
klusio Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Thanks for the mention Aaron We can carry out the full install if requested, and would ideally like to do more conversions like this :y: Let us know if you deside to get serious with the ideas Cheers Kieran Quote
tas_ae71 Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 (edited) no worries kezza, seen the other Aarons fab work, its very professional, some of the best ive ever seen! Edited January 15, 2009 by tas_ae71 Quote
mookie Posted January 16, 2009 Author Report Posted January 16, 2009 pm sent to klusio i think I'm thinking 1jzgte hilux diff and a few other things main issues i've got an r154 but would a w58 be better ? obviously weight distribution aswell and what sort of stress can the little chassis handle. it mostly just ideas atm but i'm researching it as much as i can to see if it will be better than using the rt142 Quote
