nichy Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 hey all... new to this forum but been on boostcruising and Nissan silvia for a while now ... anyway as the title says ... i have just brought a ke70 with a 4k.... runs smooth and all that stuff but it wont turn over :y: tested the alternator and its fine.... it was just working one day.l.. then the next it wasn;t ... what would be some things to check? KE30_KE35_KE55 Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 (edited) step 1 with the engine running put a volt meter across the battery on the lead terminals. should be at least 13.8 volts step 2 with engine running put a volt meter Leeds (red positive) on alternator output terminal on the back of alternator put (negative black) lead on the alternator housing try front middle and back housing. nichy Posted January 11, 2009 Author Report Posted January 11, 2009 ok all fixed now... was misled when buying it .... but meh alto was stuffed :wink: did the voltage test and it was on 10.4v gae it a rev went to 11.3v took it off got dad to teat it and it has no resistance over it.... replaced the rings brushes and little black box at the back of it ( names slips my mind at the moment ) now has 13v or 12v across it .. cost 30 bucks and 6 mins to do him self... better then the qupte of 250 to get recoed haha get it back on monday so see how it goes :( cheers for the help guys nichy Quote
