johnny t Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 hey guys i done my hydrolic clutch on my ke30 ive looked at other threads and the push rod was on a angle and i didnt like that idea because it would wear the seals in the master. so i tried sumthing... which works well i used the basic idea of a bolt with about 50mm of thread and 4 nuts as you can see in the pics. i used the same point of push but created my own elbow joiner so it pushes from the same point but keeps the push rod straight with the clutch master. i used a ta22 clutch master.johnnyt Quote
cuzzo Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 You have to unbolt the rod from the pedal to adjust huh? Quote
johnny t Posted January 2, 2009 Author Report Posted January 2, 2009 na the rod turns inside the clutch masta so all you need to do is undo the the silver lock nut there and simply twist to adjust. Quote
greenmac80 Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 hmmm what happens if those bolts come loose?? the elbow join will just move yeah?? Quote
kangaroosa Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 (edited) I have a similar setup on my KE30. (probably one of the threads you read). Blackrolla - Lock nuts shouldnt come undone as thats the purpose of them. Loctite may also help. Maybe using some nyloc nuts would give that extra peace of mind instead of loctite. But none the less, that elbow is not locked on tight. The elbow is still allowed to pivot on the rod as the pedal is pushed in and out. The lock nuts basically prvent the elbow from slipping off the rod. I welded the nuts and rod to the actual pedal to give it more rigidity. The outer nuts are nyloc nuts. I also put a washer under the lower side of the master to align it with the push rod. Edited January 2, 2009 by kangaroosa Quote
johnny t Posted January 2, 2009 Author Report Posted January 2, 2009 yep i think it was thats where i got the idea of that thread set up thats exactly right its not tight agains the elbow so it can pivot. yeah nyloc nuts would do the trick thats just what i had acess to cause of eveywhere shut atm cause of new years. if they end up loosening i will get different nuts. shouldnt cum loose tho if you do it up tight enough. greenmac80 Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 probs seem stupid but its not working in my head! if the elbow moves then how is it tranfering the movement? quick vid will sort me out i think. Quote
johnny t Posted January 3, 2009 Author Report Posted January 3, 2009 where the thread goes through the clutch pedal that is the piviot point so the bottom of the elbow is free to alow it to pivot from that point and that point is full movement of the clutch master try and picture what would happen if that pedal moves.
