duggy Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 has it been done before I'm considering it and wana know if the cas will clear the fire wall Quote
Sam_Q Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 well the crank angle sensor in itself doesnt take up much room and all the engine and trans mounts would have to be made up anyway so I think it would just be a case of sitting the engine far enough foward to make it fit yeah? I would be guessing that the position of the heater core is the same as the ke30 and ke55s so the rear bypass plate would need the outlet for the heater facing the exhuast side which is no big deal. Let us know if you need some conversion parts for this. Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Davros 4AGE KE10 Project Not a 20v but has a bit of homework at the start that might help. Quote
phife Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 Has been done in a KE17 ---> Linky The pictures are missing in the link, but i saved them for reference... Not alot of room all round, despite the firewall having been cut back. Quote
greenmac80 Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 they didn't convert the colling system hence why the firewall was cut. if you can get a 16v in there you can get a 20v in there if its done right Quote
Sam_Q Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 I think its silly that anyone would chop the firewall to clear the cooling system when me and others sell the necessary cooling parts to only need less than 30mm of clearence from the back of the head. Unless they didnt know that such a kit was available of course.. Quote
duggy Posted January 4, 2009 Author Report Posted January 4, 2009 kool guys thanks for ya help also has anyone ever done a 4agte in a ke1X cause I'm having ideas Quote
philbey Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 30mm Clearance with a KE10 might be difficult! Quote
Sam_Q Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 I know a way to do a cooling system that only needs 3mm of clearence, or flush if your ok welding the head Quote
beerhead Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 In such a small bay it'd be worth throwing away the factory cas, machining out the back off the head and running a 10mm plate over the rear water outlet. Then graft a nissan cas on the front exhaust cam pulley, or run a missing tooth wheel on the crank with a hall effect pickup. The only problem with crank based pulley is you don't get a home signal at cyl 1 TDC, you get one every 360 deg rather than 720 on the camshaft, so there is no way to run sequential ignition or spark. oh what a nissan feeling! Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 The 2jzgte setup is very small, it has a small magnetic pickup that bolts in to the side of the head on the inlet side, it works off a small lump on the inlet cam, i was quite impressed with how small and simple it is compared to my nissan stuff. Just a thought...... Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Not yet as far as I know. 5K Turbo, done. 4AGE, done. But never heard of a 4AGTE KE10. Quote
