philbey Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Hi guys, Torqued the head up on my 5k and slapped all the rocker gear in. OH OH valves hit pistons first go. Bugger. I pulled the rods out, they were about 156mm long, so I dug around a bit and found some 150.5 long items and they went in perfect. I'm guessing the longer ones are off an early K engine? (Kangaroosa, you might be looking for some longer rods I think they're the ones I got from you with the cam!) Anyway, the shorter rods gave me lifter preloads from 1.1-1.6mm as best I can measure. For you other 5K builders does this sound about right? I originally measured one at about 2mm but I redid it and got it about 1.6. The longer lengths are on the inlets as well. cheers Tom. Quote
