fozz Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 if you are in qld u can't do any thing that requires a blue plate if u are on your p's as for motors most of the k series motors are old and sluggish the only one that is half decent is a 7k and there worth a fair bit now days Quote

08ftw Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 5k is illegal, but if you are willing to take the risk, easiest option. Looks almost exactly the same as a 4k, and apparently gives a bit more power. Trying to find one though... I may have one up for sale soon. pending. Quote

macca__1590 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 if you are in qld u can't do any thing that requires a blue plate if u are on your p's so what if say, a comodore wagon has a mod plate for two extra seats in the very back? or a diesel hilux had a mod plate for a turbo? would a P plater be able to drive it?? by the way these new P plate rules a flawed big time, not that that needs disussing Quote

Info on mod plate laws: A P Plater CANNOT drive a vehicle with a mod plate that has anything to do with engine modifications unless they have acquired a high powered vehicle exemption. Eg. Engine conversions (eg. 4age into ke70), turbo conversions. A P Plater CAN drive a vehicle with a mod plate that is not engine related. Eg: Fitting bucket seats, fitting roll cages, registered two seater, brake upgrades. They are the laws. What you can get away with is a different story. Quote
