TRD ke70 Posted December 19, 2010 Author Report Posted December 19, 2010 Just a small update. Half the back panel is well on it's way to been fitted, decided to make this in 2 pieces, easy to make and easy to remove if we have too. Also fitted a little carbon fiber to the dash to carry the switches for the driving lights, engine fan, internal fan and to carry the shift light/rev counter. Battery clamp for the HUGE battery was made and the battery screwed down. Matty, Over xmas the plan is to make the moulds for the fiber glass bumpers and bang out 2 bumpers, once that has been done we'll be concentrating on the interior, which would be the seat mounts and then fitting of the seats and belts. Hoping to send the car out in January to get the exhaust done as well. Slo, keep up the good work mate, love the build and the quality. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted December 25, 2010 Author Report Posted December 25, 2010 (edited) Half the back panel is now fitted!! Will make a start on the other half tomorrow. Finished fitting the switches and rev limiter to the dash, just need to wire them in and then the whole dash can be screwed together. Also making a start on the mould for the carbon/kevlar sump guard tomorrow or monday. Hopefully it'll be strong enough to cop the abuse. Edited December 25, 2010 by TRD ke70 Quote

TRD ke70 Posted December 26, 2010 Author Report Posted December 26, 2010 Yeah sure thing, I'd like to see what you and your dad have done. Today saw the completion of the dash, after 2 attempts to get the switches working(F**ked switch in the end) they are all working. Had a play with the rev limiter as well, nice bit of kit!! With the dash finished, I moved on to some small shit, fitting the co-drivers foot rest(commonly known as the Passenger brake) :lolcry: ,grip taping the floor(still need to do the drivers side), and wiring the Terratrip reset button. The back panel and back door panels should be just about finished tomorrow, then it'll be on to making the bumper moulds and the kevlar sump guard. Quote
jimi91 Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 ok sweet good to hear :lolcry: wow that looks great and will be one sweet ride see ya jimi Quote
Trev Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 After all this I wouldn't wanna rally it as it will get dirty, good work turd brothers. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted December 27, 2010 Author Report Posted December 27, 2010 Back panel is finally installed, after much F**king around trying to get the shape right. Quite happy with the end result, had to remove the fuel tank and some wiring, but that's well on it's way to being put back together. Should have the back door panels finished tomorrow, if i pull my finger out!! So then that's most of the interior stuff done, another big step forward, means we can also mount the seats. Trev: as they say, it's only got to look good until the first corner, and knowing Tony that'll be about right!! :lolcry: Quote
SLO-030 Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 f@$k me, that's alot of CF. Lookin good guys. Quote
jimi91 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 looks great and ull keep the weight down  keep up the good work see ya jimi Quote
TRD ke70 Posted December 28, 2010 Author Report Posted December 28, 2010 Thanks Guys Feels like we are on the home stretch with this now. :hmm: Anyhow, seat mounts are just about done. Had to lighten/modify them, as they weren't that nice and still had a lot of weight in them. But happy with how they have turned out, apart from having to weld a mounting nut inside the car. :bash: Quote
jimi91 Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 with ur seat mounts have u used the old ones or modded them???? me and dad got a bit of square tube welded in from side to tunnel and the right angle and distance to suit seats and dummies :lolcry: see ya jimi Quote
TRD ke70 Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Posted December 30, 2010 Well got most of the inside of the car finished today. I think there is only the door handle pockets to sort out and get some seat belts and it'll be finished on the inside. Fitted up the rear screen as the back panel has all been sealed in and cleaned all the windows, what a difference that makes. Shortened up the battery leads, more weight out of the car!! :lolcry: Refitted the fuel tank after cleaning the inside of the boot and Tony fitted the boot pins as well. Made a start on the fiberglass moulds for the bumpers too. Quote
