rob323 Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) What can I say, I have a thing for well built tidy racing/rally cars :) Chris, that sounds like someone volunteering to wash down the car after events to me! (Just don't go licking the carbon fibre, I've seen where Chris has been rubbing that.) Edited January 11, 2011 by rob323 Quote

TRD ke70 Posted January 12, 2011 Author Report Posted January 12, 2011 Thanks Snot for the vote. With the floods in Brissy, I got the day off work, so what better way to spend it than working on the car. Tony had dropped it off to get the exhaust done on Monday, to my surprise it was ready today. So we thought we'd see what it sounded like with a decent exhaust. Sorry about the quality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkwAgZ-y_mg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggJ8lnTm_x8 Quote
beerhead Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Hells yes, sounds a little meaty in the cam department :) You going to throw it on a dyno and see who she goes? BTW whats the plan for the first outing? Quote
TRD ke70 Posted January 12, 2011 Author Report Posted January 12, 2011 No dyno at this stage, need to run it in and run an event or two. And that could be a while away with all the roads that are now f@$ked!! :glare: Yours sound great as well, i'll be interested to see how quick it is, as a friend of mine wants to rally a 86 with a Beams in it. Quote
beerhead Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Cheers dude, will be interesting to drive a KE that doesn't need to be at 4000rpm to make power. Beams rally car would be off tap in an AE86. But I think the biggest setback with them in a small chassis that they're 3" taller than a gen2, so I'd have to walk the motor about an inch forward to make it clear the seam that pokes out on the firewall. Hey, you could always but the 4AGE in a powerboat to break it in! Quote
TRD ke70 Posted January 12, 2011 Author Report Posted January 12, 2011 Thinking about a jet unit to go into the rolla now!! :lolcry: Quote
snot35 Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Definately sounds like a rally car, can't wait to hear it at full noise! :) Quote
TRD ke70 Posted January 12, 2011 Author Report Posted January 12, 2011 Same here, just need to get it rego'ed and tune it. Quote
beerhead Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 I'm still trying to photochop your rally car, a catamaran and a jet motor together, just doesn't seem to work very well! Will be the new 2011 QLD rally series formula the way things are going... Quote
jimi91 Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 sounds great mate looking foward to its first drive  keep up the good work see ya jimi Quote
TRD ke70 Posted January 21, 2011 Author Report Posted January 21, 2011 More alloy bolts have arrived, thought the bonnet pin bolts were just to heavy :lolcry: So i have brought some alloy ones with alloy nylock nuts. Lots of smaller jobs will be at attempted this weekend, as well as the construction on the sump guard mould. Quote
ke70dave Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 ohhhh does that sound good. lookin forward to seeing this thing in action. you and your alloy bolts... Quote
