removing steering coloum is easy.

unbolt steering box from chassis rail, remove bolts from floor (where coulum goes through)

unbolt coloum from dash, and pull it out.

yes steering box comes out with it.

cheers, scott

i recognise those carbs hahah... I'm the guy who sold em to you but i didnt know they were going on a 4age, thats awesome!!

this car should be good man. i like where its going. i hope that one day we will see a lot more old school jdm inspired cars in australia and not so many bright pink things with 18in simmons and truck intercoolers.... one day.....

ive got a KE20 with a hydraulic clutch if you want any pics, my KE25 is cable though as you already know. personally i love the cable clutch in my KE25 just cause its so simple and easy to adjust and it never leaks shit on my carpet.

Hey paul.. yeah man send us what ever photos you can get of your hydraulic setup, that would be heaps handy, even tho i've nearly done mine. it should still be helpful..

i agree big shiny pimptastic wheels on old classic toyotas look shithouse imo.. And if you ever want to sell those 13's mk2's give me a yell.. haha, but seriously..

Jono, i don't really like the look of remote boosters and associated extra lines in the engine bay an i don't think there is enough room behind the guard to hide one so thats why I'm running a f/w mounted booster. and as i said I'm going to be running a ke35/50 booster as they are slightly smaller in dia so that will get me out of trouble with the clutch mc and as i also said i will mod the pedal box to suit...

are there any carb guru's in Tha house.. what size mains and things would you recommend for a standard (for now) 16v bigport 4age?? the webbers came with 200 correctors. 110 mains, 40 chokes or whatever.. do they sound about right??

cheers.. Richie.

Yo, I havn't done much to the old girl for a little while.. no motivation i guess but i just got a mani for the carbs, bolted them on an dam i want to drive this thing now.. Motor looks so naice.. also got a very basic linkage for the cable and also to hide it.. Its the blue thing underneath the carbs. ]

Lined the diff up and the wheels stick out about 3 inches with the T18 diff so tossing up whether to use bolt on flares or just make some steel ones using ke70 or similar arches..

And just been cleaning up the engine bay, going to weld up all the unecessary holes and smooth it all out then move the batterey behind the passenger seat and also remove that anoying bulge in the middle of the firewall..

also ive started removing some of the sound deadener so i can start to stitch weld the shell from the boot then only up to the strut towers.

if anyone has some hydro clutch pics, from in the cabin, post em up yo!!

Cheers.. Richie..

Well after seeing and reading quite a few other KE2x threads i decided i had better pull my finger out and start working on mine again. The car that is not so much my thread..

So in the last two arvos i stripped all the sound deadening out with a heat gun and a chisle, got most of the wiring under the dash out (oh an how minty fresh is the dash pad??), roof lining is out too, i also pulled out the windscreen and rear window assuming i'd find some rust, but nope, its as pretty as the day it was made.. but to top off all my hard work i found $1.35 in shrapnel and 3 tyre valves :P

Been slowly getting my front brakes together, 86 shortened struts, TRD yellows, vented+slotted discs, calipers, power steering arms (altho I'm not sure if that will make a difference with the steering box??).. so all I'm waiting on now are a pair of weld on coilover kits, then that'll be sorted..

With the wheels thats where I'm hoping ill be able to tuck the 15's for the time being till i find some 13 inch hayashi streets.. Altho i will be running flares so it will make for a better fitment..

I decided not to run carbs on the 4age as i also have a set of itbs here so I'm just goin to make a mani for that, just not sure which comp ill use to run it.. I'm thinking adaprtonic but thats way down the line..

So now i just got to find a place to media blast it at a reasonable price.. can anyone reccomend a place on the sunny coast?? i tried one dude but he wants around $12-1500 so I'm not going there.. :P

After the blasting is done I'm not really sure what colour to paint it, i really like the orange but for some reason that british racing green or what ever it is, is starting to get my attention.. so theres another problem to overcome as well as getting the t series shortened with leaf mounts put on..

And lastly my newest toy is a little 125cc pitty. Goes alright for what it is. The gold one looks better that that now .. 2 for a hundred bucks so i made one good one an ill scrap the rest, and anyway the pro tapers are worth that too..

Anyway I'm (as they say) rooted.. so beddy byes for me.. nite nite

Richie..
