So as of 31st of December I could import a KP61 personally. Or just for importers?

anyone can import a 15 year and older car, you just have to get an import approval. they give those out to anyone.

i've got a couple of mates who do imports from japan and they say is not hard to import if it's 15 years and older.

i'm seriously looking at bring a starlet in, would have to be a KP60-61.

BRING ON THE IMPORTS.

i wouldn't bring a starlet over here, for the same reason i wouldn't bring a te27 over. parts, except engine bits, are going to be impossible/expensive to find so you'll end up with a corolla driveline in a car that looks different and is inconvenient to daily drive and leave parked and risk racing and whatever else

i haven't heard that one, but it'll be interesting to see if it happens.

from what i understand from jan 2007 there's going to no duty on imported cars,

from jan the 1st this year the duty dropped(not sure by how much) on imported cars.

we paid over 50% on the rally car and MR2 when they came in.

it was worth it though.

just remenber, about 6 years ago passing a late jap ke70 coming back from the gold coast, anyone knows who owns it??
