TRD ke70 Posted April 2, 2005 Author Report Posted April 2, 2005 i know of 2 in brisbane northside, white kp62, and red kp60-61 5 door(haven't seen the 5 door) but i have seen the white one, boondall area. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted April 2, 2005 Author Report Posted April 2, 2005 tony saw on the southside about 12-13 years ago a blue 3 door, chased it but stopped when taking a short cut he realized he was going down a one way street the wrong way(f@$ken rally drivers) :D Quote

irokin Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 15 year rule is gone...unless you know otherwise?? Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 the hard part is finding a non rusty non rolled bowled and arseholed one.... a few old grannies still have such examples. if your serious let me know a month or 2 ahead and ill scout one or two for ya. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted April 2, 2005 Author Report Posted April 2, 2005 15 year and older is still going, here's the link import 15+ Quote
irokin Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 I remember reading a DOTARS press release a month or two ago saying they were scrapping it...or changing it...or something.... http://www.dotars.gov.au/transreg/vsb/vsb_10.htm Quote
irokin Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 Yes. But I would get it in before December 31st 2005. Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 that IS the new rule.... the 31st dec date is for an rule for importers, as in car yards. iv been looking into bringing cars in.... Quote
TRD ke70 Posted April 3, 2005 Author Report Posted April 3, 2005 So as of 31st of December I could import a KP61 personally. Or just for importers? anyone can import a 15 year and older car, you just have to get an import approval. they give those out to anyone. i've got a couple of mates who do imports from japan and they say is not hard to import if it's 15 years and older. i'm seriously looking at bring a starlet in, would have to be a KP60-61. BRING ON THE IMPORTS. Quote
Super Jamie Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 i wouldn't bring a starlet over here, for the same reason i wouldn't bring a te27 over. parts, except engine bits, are going to be impossible/expensive to find so you'll end up with a corolla driveline in a car that looks different and is inconvenient to daily drive and leave parked and risk racing and whatever else Quote
irokin Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 No I'm saying import before December 31 2005 because I believe they plan on changing the rules further. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted April 3, 2005 Author Report Posted April 3, 2005 i haven't heard that one, but it'll be interesting to see if it happens. from what i understand from jan 2007 there's going to no duty on imported cars, from jan the 1st this year the duty dropped(not sure by how much) on imported cars. we paid over 50% on the rally car and MR2 when they came in. it was worth it though. just remenber, about 6 years ago passing a late jap ke70 coming back from the gold coast, anyone knows who owns it??
