SLO-030 Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 (edited) Talking to Charity Rolla about this and was wondering if there were any control arms that could be swapped into a ke30 for a bit more camber? are there any struts that swap over easily that could possible improve handling at all? Also, would it be possible to fit rack and pinion steering out of a kesev into a ke30? CHEERS Ryan Edited December 14, 2008 by SLO-030 Quote
Redwarf Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 Sigma GH. Just search for Sigma and work from there. I'm investigating Skyline struts ATM. Quote
styler Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 check toymods for the lower control arm database with lengths and mounting points, just measure your lca specs and away you go :) Quote
SLO-030 Posted December 14, 2008 Author Report Posted December 14, 2008 Cheers guys, Redwarf: are you just talking about Sigma GH LCA's or the whole strut? Styler: will have a look now Quote
Budowski Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 Ive seen a KE70 rack grafted into a TA22 celica, The guy just copied the KE70 cross member to make mounts on the TA22 cross member and made an extender for the existing steering shaft. Quote
DearmanKE Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 id say 86 struts could be used for bigger brakes bigger shocks etc. and yeah sigma arms for more camber, Quote
SLO-030 Posted December 14, 2008 Author Report Posted December 14, 2008 Sick, will have a geez at the wreckers next time. SO, GH sigma arms will slot right in? Quote
DearmanKE Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 i think you need mods, il try sus it bfor i see you later Quote
DearmanKE Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 Sigma lower control arms. these are from a GH sigma with press in ball joint. these arms give a 60mm total track increase and close to -5 degrees camber. obvious disadvantages are increased inner edge tyre wear, straight lone braking can also be comprimised due to less of the tyre being in contact with the road. these arms have to be used with RA40 celicas tie rod ends to ensure the correct toe setting can be reached. cost depends on wrecker, but you should be able to get the parts you need for around the $100 mark. requires some modification to inner arm bush to fit, (grind a bit of the steel tube section down, so it fits betwwen subframe) quoted from 86dc, talking about putting them into a ke70/ae86 because ke30's have longer lca's than ke70's the camber that sigmas give will nto be as extreme, my guess is about 3 degrees each side, which is still a fair bit however if the car is to be driven on street, accelerated tyre wear and other things mentioned above. coln72 Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 Is there enough meat in the cross member to relocate the pivot points. Was able to move out the pivot points on my KE20 about 25mm to give extra camber. Quote
greenmac80 Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 i was told the other day to try corona?? LCA's? anyone credit or discredit this?? why not just get cambertops? Quote
SLO-030 Posted December 14, 2008 Author Report Posted December 14, 2008 why not just get cambertops? Well, up until about 2hrs ago i had no clue as to what camber tops were (thanks Alex) Suspension really isnt my forte. Thinking about just leaving it all stock for now and getting the mods done that I'm in the proccess of doing. Then i can think about toying with struts and camber. Might keep researching the rack and pinion conversion tho. Quote
trav_555 Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 sigma lcas also give ya more track man :jamie: I'm doing the suspension in my ke70 now man, i can send you photos and shit and info just ask, and also look in the faq as they have stuff about suspension, and stuff about what you have to do to the sigma lcas too Travis Quote
ogre6br Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 when Iwas doing my 55 was told to use RA 60 celica front struts complete and T-18 lower control arms to get things back into line never got round to doing it but the guy who told/showed me had his done like that for his 2TG engine add later P Quote

I'm interested in doing the same front end conversion. Quote
