leigh Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 The 2" speco guages I have in Tar are like $20-$40 each from Bursons Leigh! :y: Thanks Si :P Quote
ke20rolla Posted January 13, 2009 Author Report Posted January 13, 2009 Well my brother had today off work so he decided he needed something to do, so he made a couple of small metal plates to fill in the gap on each side of the gearlever where it enters through the floor. :P He also put the auto console back in. So all going well it should be a runner by the weekend.   I got the crossmembers welded together at work yesterday and I am just waiting for a new gearbox mount which should be here tomorrow. :y: Heres a pic of today's progress. Quote
Murd 55 Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 coulda sold me the 5speed, seeing as my car is a 55xx it will all line up XD Quote
seabiscuit Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Fantastic bargain! A $400 bank account balance for me makes it difficult to keep adding to my Corolla collection. I love the interior, looks flash! Should look at putting some nice rims on it. Something clean and respectable though to suit the car. Good luck with the beast and in the words of ke20rolla... Long live the Rolla's. :y: Quote
ke20rolla Posted January 13, 2009 Author Report Posted January 13, 2009 (edited) lol :| My gearbox mount arrived today so tonight I bolted in the crossmember, filled it up with oil and put the tailishaft in :jamie: So all I have to do now is wire the selector switch into itself, as it thinks it's in gear and it doesn't start, and sort out a couple of very small things like replacing a indicator dash globe, give her a oil and filter change and maybe replace suspect rear wheel cylinders. Other then that, make sure everything is working for when I put it over the pits. Edited January 13, 2009 by ke20rolla Quote
ke20rolla Posted January 15, 2009 Author Report Posted January 15, 2009 Last night I gave the ke55 a oil and filter change, wired up the reverse switch, fixed a couple of blown globes, adjusted the brake pedal play, and wired the selector plug into itself so that it starts now. :jamie: So this weekend I'll give her a good tune by cleaning the plugs, points and rotor and check the timing and mixture and grease the necessary parts etc. :| Progrees is going along smoothly now. Quote
JiP Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Sounds great man. Looks like she'll be out and about in no time. :y: Quote
ke20rolla Posted February 19, 2009 Author Report Posted February 19, 2009 Well it's been a while, but it's now registered and I'm driving it around. I put in a c.d player and a couple of speakers on the rear parcel shelf aswell. It's also got a straight front bumper. :y: :D I have also replaced the brake pads, shoes, flexible lines, rear wheel cylinders and machined the rotors, I also put in new nolathane front swaybar bushes. The next things on the list are to get some rust cut out of it and straighten the drivers front guard, then find some 14 or 15inch mags to go on it. :( Cheers, Mark. :P Quote
ke20rolla Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 Hi all, here is my ke55 with 17inch mags with 205/40 tyres. I went around to a few wreckers as I was originally going for 15inch mags but couldn't find any. :D So I got some new 17inches as there wasn't much choice, anyway I reckon they suit the car very well. :D I have also lowered it and put on a 32/36 downdraught weber for a little more pickup. I still need to find a straight drivers side front guard, PBR brake booster and cut a little rust out here and there. Anyway I'll sort it out eventually and it will end up as a neat daily. :abuse: :D I am also going to tint the windows. Here is a couple of pics. :abuse: Quote
Murd 55 Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 looks nice, not ususally a fan of modern rims on older cars, but seems you have gotten away with it nicely well done. looks the goods, I'm impressed! Quote
ke20rolla Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 Thanks Murd, :locked: Yeah I am usually the same with modern rims on old cars, some people don't have a clue what suits what, but these seem to go well with the body shape. Should look even better when I get the windows tinted. Thanks, Mark. :y: :y: Quote
Jason KE30 Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 They are actually the only type of modern rim that i like on the older corollas. If it has anything more than 5 spokes then it shouldn't be on a rolla. Looks the goods man. Must be a sweet daily. Quote
ke20rolla Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 Yeah thanks mate, she's not a bad daily at all, and the interior is very neat aswell. :locked: Quote
ke20rolla Posted March 9, 2009 Author Report Posted March 9, 2009 Hi guy's, well I managed to pickup another PBR brake booster and a straight rust free drivers front guard today. :D  I put the booster on this arvo and the brakes are working much better  So all I have to do now is get the new guard painted and and get a little rust cut out, tint the windows and I should be just about done. I'll post some more pics when I've completed these things. Cheers, Mark. Quote
