chestikoph1 Posted August 27, 2010 Author Report Posted August 27, 2010 Hey everyone, things are still progressing slowly. I have finally finished wiring the car, and also the dash is done, it's all wired and every thing works except for the ABS, Airbag and HICAS lights. Still have to hook up the radiator hoses, the fuel lines, fit the exhaust and i should be able to start it!!! Hoping to have it on the road in a couple of months. Here's a couple of pics, more to come. what's everyone reckon, too much black? Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 dude that dash is fckn awesome.. def not too much black it just makes your guages stand out all the more!! Quote
colonel Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 It'd probably break up the black a bit if ya used a steering wheel, gear knob, ect with a bit of brushed alloy finish or similar. Quote
e70van Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 clean build mate. looking forward to seeing it complete! Quote
Doogs Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 Neat job mate, really love what you are doing. Keep the updates coming. Quote
chestikoph1 Posted August 28, 2010 Author Report Posted August 28, 2010 Thanks guys, Painted the cooler black for the stealth look, hopefully keeps the boys in blue and the sticky beaks away. Got some black cooler hoses, and managed to get the top rad hose sussed, the bottom one is going to be a bitch might have to do it in to two pieces. Pic of the engine bay as it stands now. Quote
beerhead Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 Looking very tidy man - 2L turbo in a corolla is going to have some get up and go. How flexible is that dynomat? It reasonably easy to get right? Looks good, and weights heaps less than the tarry crap I bet. Quote
jimi91 Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 hey What an awesome build mate I love ur dash nice work there looks like it was a bit of work lol mate hope she goes good when ya done keep up the good work see ya jimi Quote

The Dynamat is great, it's very flexible and its not hard to get right, there is no second chance though once its on, its on. If its a tricky area i suggest cutting out templates from paper first, instead of trying to wing it. There are two versions of it as well, one thinner than the other. Thanks for all the compliments guys, hope its all been of help for any one considering a similar conversion. Quote
daggers57 Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 Awesome build mate! Interior looks wicked, great job modifying the original dash. Love those rims, what are they called? Quote
chestikoph1 Posted August 30, 2010 Author Report Posted August 30, 2010 (edited) Awesome build mate!Interior looks wicked, great job modifying the original dash. Love those rims, what are they called? Thanks mate. There Konig's and the model is Rewind, not sure if they are still available. But they do another sick wheel called B Bomb, check them out they would suit old corollas well. Edited August 30, 2010 by chestikoph1 Quote
