furryfrog Posted February 20, 2009 Author Report Posted February 20, 2009 well its lucky i didnt install the 044 i have sitting around instead. I love overkill, like i said they were lying around and i had all the bits from my old car so it didnt cost me much, also it is a good failsafe method. Its a little noisy but once i install a headunit that should be ample enough to drown the noise out. Quote
furryfrog Posted February 21, 2009 Author Report Posted February 21, 2009 (edited) Had the car on the dyno saturday morning at Micks Motorsport, what a top guy loves to chat so i knew i was in for a long tune lol. Mick fixed a small problem i had with the tps at 1% throttle that kept making the car jerk as it dumped fuel in thinking it was going from 1% to 0% and vice versa so good now its much easier to drive at speed. After a bit more playing around ended up getting 178rwkw on 15psi, i wanted 170 so I'm happy still have plenty left in the turbo. Only ended up running 5degrees advance because of my 10:1 comp and i want the motor to survive for a while. I will upload a video of a power run when I'm at home. George. edit: my mistake 15psi not 14. Edited February 21, 2009 by furryfrog Quote
PMP020 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 good work !!! would you agree that 178 in a rolla compared to 190 in a commo feels almost twice as quick? i remember comparing my RB30T rolla to a VLT commo and there was no comparison with power to weight!!!!! now get in it and enjoy the sucker, make sure you apologise for the kickin and punchin or it will be a bitch to ya. cheers, scott Quote
KE ping it real Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Nice figures George Should feel like quite a weapon to drive now :P Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) Congrats, great result. Sounds like its a fairly safe tune to. Should be nice to drive with the higher comp, bit more bottom end :P Edited February 22, 2009 by 13BT_KE20 Quote

Nice figures George Should feel like quite a weapon to drive now :) Yeh its a bit of a handful, going to take a little time getting used to where the power comes on again its a bit touchy and easy to loop. Congrats, great result. Sounds like its a fairly safe tune to. Should be nice to drive with the higher comp, bit more bottom end :P Yeh very safe i think a bit more timing could of been had but I'm not in need of a few more kws for now, once i build a bottom end then i think its time to give it a full out power tune, get some cams etc. The big bonus of the high comp is i can cruise around all day without it feeling like a dog off boost. should go hard man now man even though its a nissan engine there very potent motors and have no hesitation to spew out biggish numbers!!! Iv'e been told they can get closer to the 200 mark but its always a timebomb, the motor is where i want it now its time to sort out a better radiator and get an oil cooler so i don't cook it. If a donor shells pops up in the meantime i think i will snap it up and prep is for a transplant. I'm finally home so i took a pic of the graph, forgot to ask to have rpm not kph down the bottom but oh well And here is a quick video, nothing exciting but i couldnt help myself. Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Sounds awesome, its all going again. :) good to see you did the smart thing and got a tune straight away. My sr20de+t made 171 kw at 10psi, but had a high flow on it and a fair bit more timing, Definately not stressed at this level, i revved it to 8, and drove it like it was stolen, with no drama for years... until my fuel pump died :P Quote
