bluterus Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Hey everyone my names Pete I recently did up a Datsun 620 ute then on the way home Monday someone pulled out in front of me and I wrote it off. Anyways Corolla's are waaay cooler so I'm going to start a project on one. The datto had an L20B with mild cam and 5 speed ready to go in but now I'm going to sell them and scrap the car then buy a corolla. I'm going to drop in a 4AGE and respray the car not sure on colour yet any suggestions? My sister had a 1983 ke70 XX 5 speed sedan which she sold about 6 months ago for $800 and I'm soo annoyed because I wish I bought it cause it was in such good nick. Apparently someone in Qld bought it but then my sister got a red light ticket from SA so I guess its there. Here's some pics. Now here's where I need some help I know the AE71 will be much easier for the swap but I much prefer the square front of the KE70 Is it possible to just swap the grill, lights and bonnet to make it look the same or is the chassis a different shape? As soon as I find one my project will begin as I was really getting into the datsun only to have it finish early. So I'm really keen to start a new project. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 don't know much about the swap but I am in Adelaide and I swear I saw that thing a little while ago/ :) Quote
wides13 Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 (edited) you either have to make brakets for the square headlights or do what i did. swap radiater panel over which requires drilling, welding and alineing. some pictures of before and where you have to drill out the old spot welds you will need these parts- washer panel bonnet gaurds beaver panel lights and grill it's good you okay! shame bout the little datto looked pretty sweet. DearmanKE Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 you can swap the front aswell as gril lights and bonnet you wil need both front guards, the pannel behind the bonnet(where the water shoots out) and possibly the beaver panel, tho I'm unsure on that. Quote
