curly Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 of course it wont work i was just trying for a little humour, maybe we could turn the gearbox around ha Quote
philbey Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 Get Albins in victoria to make you a complete new diff centre, they've got the only CNC hypoid gear cutter in the southern hemisphere. You'll only need to sell your first born haha. Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 Every one will hate me for posting this but I have see a diff run up side down quite successfully. Was a kinda home made buggy dune jumper that was a shit heap auto behind a old Holden V8. Auto shit its self in forwards but not reverse. Now instead of buying a new cheap box for a laugh the diff was out and put in upside down again. It ran for a while car was slow as reverse was so low geared but took a HEAP of thrashing. Now I'm just putting this idea out there when your down changing gears as you do pulling up to a stop if there is the slightest amount of engine breaking your diff will be contacting on the other side of the gear. So why not run one up side down providing you had some way of keeping oil to the bearings. Cameron Quote

towe001 Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 (edited) f20c In the quick search i made last night a lexus forum was saying that the honda f20c made about the same power as the 1uz v8 !? Edit - didn't bother with looking it up yet Edited December 11, 2008 by towe001 Quote
Killerolla Posted December 11, 2008 Author Report Posted December 11, 2008 (edited) Ok so turning the diff upside down aint going to happen. F20c would be nice but i can't see one under $10,000. Unless someone has a f20c they don't want anymore lol. I think i might to have another think about it. Maybe i should just to Go a SR20 something like that. I thought it would be nice to try something different. Edited December 11, 2008 by Killerolla Quote
towe001 Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 '94 model Suzuki Vitara v6 The H20A displaces 2.0 L (1998 cc); bore is 78.0 mm (3.1 in) and stroke is 69.7 mm (2.7 in). With a 9.5:1 compression ratio, it produces 100 kW (134 hp) at 6500 rpm and 172 N·m (127 ft·lbf) at 4500 rpm. Or the g16b with the g13b twin cam head Quote

Killerolla Posted December 12, 2008 Author Report Posted December 12, 2008 OK lets get back to the point. What do i need to fit a b16a into a ke30??? I just want to make sure if it can or can't be done. Quote
Redwarf Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 What's the budget? Unless you're talking multiple 000's it isn't going to happen. Before you do anything, you need to sort what gearbox you can fit to it. Then things like engine mounts, and whether that block has the ablilty to have side mounts. Where does the dizzy mount. position size of intake and do I need custom. How much work can you do yourself? Get a tape measure, use your eyes and get out there and look at it. Five minutes should tell you yes or no. I personally think no. Quote
machg Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Mid engine rear wheel drive. No diff problems, no gear box problems. Fabricating IRS is going to be a bitch though... Quote
