*update*

i noticed the other day that my car was leaning to the left a fair bit.

i knew that the struts were on their way out so i decided today to get some good ones from upi and replace them.

and OMG here's what happened

We were down at upi and found some good struts, but do you think that the steering wheel would at least be out of the 'lock' position? no so we spent about half an hour tryin to break it free. we finally got it done and we took them home.

once we had to car on jack stand we proceeded to take off the wheels.

till we found this:

The nuts were only holding on the front wheels by a few threads. which is VERY dangerous. one of the nuts actually stripped one of the studs. we made a decision that we needed longer studs, which turns out is quite expensive, so ryan helped us out and went back down to upi to get the hubs that we had left behind.

So we replaced both hubs and discs cause mine had a mass lip on them.

We also replaced all brake lines as mine were farked.

The struts went in without any problems but for some reason the left hand side is softer than the right, is there a reason for this?? or is it just my car?

So now my car is sitting on celica wheels for now courtesy of Ryan *hi five*

Anyway, its been a long day and i'm pretty pissed that the person who sold me the wheel nuts didnt notice that they wouldnt do the job properly.

oh well.

The studs were like that because you had those NASTY spacers on them.

The wheels need to be against the hub and there are rings that will make the wheels sit on the hub properly to make it hub centric.

The hub is what holds the wheel balanced and takes the weight.

With the spacers you had the wheel only sat on the studs and put pressure on the nuts.

That and the fact the wheel nuts where only holding onto a couple of threads.

Hopefully you can understand what i have read I'm not that good at explaining things :y:

the spacers were only 3mm

i don't see how they could've effected the stud that badly.

That they do especially on the front.

I used to have mags on an ae70 that didnt sit on the hub properly and i went thru 5 studs before i was told the reason.

It is because the hub boss the rim sits on is slightly tapered 3mm means its loose.

That and the fact the guys at bridgestone gave Jason nuts to suit steel wheels. Even without the spacers the nuts ony woulda been holding about 8mm of stud. Incompitent sales people FTMFLooossee.
