irokin Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 Yet another reason for me to have the shits with the server hosts poor management practices of late. If you're not getting email notifications this is why: Hotmail: host mx2.hotmail.com [65.54.244.168]: 550 SC-001 Mail rejected by Windows LiveHotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help. Email/network admins, please visit http://postmaster.live.com for email delivery information and support Yahoo: .... just drops the emails, no bounce. Others: ??? I'll try and change to an SMTP server somewhere else but I'm not entirely sure that will work. Failing that it will have to wait until we move to the new server (which is being configured as we speak). Quote
irokin Posted December 5, 2008 Author Report Posted December 5, 2008 iinet bouncing host as-av.iinet.net.au [203.0.178.180]: 554-inbound.icp-qv1-irony-in3.iinet.net.au 554 Your access to this mail system from 119.63.202.200 has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation. If you believe that this failure is in error, please contact the intended recipient via alternate means. Quote

irokin Posted December 5, 2008 Author Report Posted December 5, 2008 It would seem someone else has been sending spam or other objectionable material via the server we're hosted on. I've just been looking up a possible solution for some people if you like the idea. I'd probably take the weekend to script it up and integrate it. But...... Who would like new topic/PM notifications sent directly to MSN Messenger? Quote
trav_555 Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 how would that work, would it be as online instant messages or something? Quote
