irokin Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 I'm willing to sell the CAS and coil packs for $200. The CAS costs $1200 new... Quote
1G-GTE KE70 Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 (edited) my 4k is lucky to get 400k's from a tank. i think i'm leaking petrol out the filler hole but. i've got an old dodgy plastic cap on it haha. it works out to about 1$ of petrol per 10K's. thats what it usually works out to regardless of petrol cost. Mr Hardware Posted April 4, 2005 Author Report Posted April 4, 2005 thats never had the carby touched or rebuilt. So do you reckon chances are its all in the carby? it works out to about 1$ of petrol per 10K's. thats what it usually works out to regardless of petrol cost. Thats what it is for me too. Quote
TOMsGPTurbo Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Thought I'll mention my Astra does 670km to a tank of Optimax so around 45ltrs....not bad hey.. Maxi would burn a tank of 40ltrs to 450kms Quote
irokin Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I want a diesel gemini. Ian said his parents one could get 900km to a tank.... that would be leet for me...since I travel 70km for work every day. Quote
Xany Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 yeah......but it was SLOOW.......gemini and diesel just don't go together in the same sentence without sounding slow. Quote
ancullen Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I want a diesel gemini. Are you sure you're not feeling ill? You want a Gemini??? You want a diesel Gemini??? :D While I admit that 900km to a tank would be nice... a Gemini??? Surely you could find something else with such good fuel economy. The new Echo will be released soon. In Wheels they talk about 4.1L/100km. That's about 900km off a 40L tank. And another benefit is, it's not a Gemini! :D Quote
demuire Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Or you could get a Prius or something. Then you can at least say that you're "being eco-friendly" :D Quote
irokin Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 Gemini = cheap Echo = not as cheap Prius = bend me over toyota, I don't mind if you f@$k me up the ass Quote
ancullen Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 The local Honda dealer up here has a Honda Insight on their lot that they've been trying to sell for about 3 years. It is still a demonstrator. My mate that works there has been offered it at $25,000. Not bad for a car with a book price of $60,000. They just can't sell the bloody thing. It'd be great for turning into a modern day CRX though... Quote
ancullen Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 Did Holden actually sell a diesel Gemini here, or do you mean one of the Isuzu grey market imports? If it is the latter, surely you could pick up a second hand Echo or equilivalent cheaper. Hell, you can get a 98/99 model Starlet for about $5,000. And if you get bored with good fuel economy, you can always just chuck in a nicely modified 4E-FTE or be creative and drop in a 5E-FHE and turbo it. Quote
Redwarf Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 God forbid, yes they actually sold Diesel Gemini's here. They were about as popular as 4 cylinder Commodores. Quote
ancullen Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 They were THAT popular? :D Mmm, Commodore with Starfire four. I can't believe that Toyota went and used that motor in the XT130 Coronas. What were they thinking??? Quote
