philbey Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 You should be able to set up an aftermarket MSD/Crane/Mallory unit with their twin post coils and a crank trigger (only 2 coils needed, waste spark setup). Check out the MSD 6AL and the Crane Hyfire. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 To run any sort of multi-coil setup you need to have a "dual pulse" ignition input for the ECU. This tells the ECU where TDC for #1 cylinder is, and it knows the firing order from there. Regardless of weather you're using a CDI system like what Philbey is talking about, you need that dual pulse input. Also, you'll need either 4x ignitors, 2x dual channel ignitors or a 4 channel like a Microtech X4. Ignitors are only really a fast switching, earthing relay so you don't fry your ECU. Quote
