irokin Posted November 30, 2003 Report Posted November 30, 2003 Saw this guys car on boost and it looks like it has a K motor Still can't be sure if it is or not...just thought Id post it up for you guys to comment on Quote
irokin Posted December 1, 2003 Author Report Posted December 1, 2003 nah its got a carby I started thinking that maybe its a diesil K engine!? The spark plugs don't look like theyre connected to a dizzy or any ignition device...might have been replaecd with glow plugs (looking more closely I can see a vac advance device below all that) but then you look at other parts that make you think that its petrol. If I had to put an engine specification on it I would have to say its a 5K Quote
irokin Posted December 1, 2003 Author Report Posted December 1, 2003 http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index....=6&entryID=2286 youd have to ask him about it Quote
Nitephyre Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 i doubt it's a K engine, even though it looks like it... it's most likelly the 2.2l deisel Quote
Medicine_Man Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Damn, thats one messy engine bay.. Quote
Junior Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 I think you will find that it is a 3Y engine found in the petrol hilux's and also hiaces... It also has a 2l engine capacity, 75kw of power. Quote
irokin Posted December 8, 2003 Author Report Posted December 8, 2003 Looks very similar Perhaps we could pilfer some parts (crank shaft?) Quote
dingo ke55 5k Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 It looks like a Y engine. similer looking to a K, nothing interchanges, i think. 2Y = 1.8 Litre 3Y = 2.0 Litre 4Y = 2.2 Litre It would be intresting to see if these bolt in to a early corolla. Not too sure on power output though. Have to be resonable though. Quote
rjenman Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 that car is quite gross. it reminds me of a hangover incarnated into vehicle form. from drinking powers. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 same engine as my townace, the plug tubes are interchangeable. Quote
Corolla_Kid Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 That is one of the dirtiest engine bays ive ever seen Quote
dysolve Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 its a Y series petrol engine, with a blowen sump and head gaskets, stick with the k engine these have to many bugs in them and are a low reving engine, and they quite big for what they are, the only good side is EFI is still easily available but if you rev on of these above 4k rpm the head gasket gives in, it 2.2ltr diesel gives 49kw at the fly whell so i dun think it s diesel LOL to get 84kw from a 2.2 would take to much work......
