Hey.

I'm about to get a weber and was wondering if anyone has made their carby porting holes (top of the intake manifold) bigger to allow more fuel/air to get in. If anyone has, how did they do it and did they notice a difference?

Cheers. :P

dunno about a k motor, but on my old gemini manifold it has the 2 holes... i got the bit in the middle taken out so the 2 holes are now one oval shape one.

Dunno if it made much difference, cause i got the manifolded ported to match head, and got some headwork done.. but i guess it could help a slight bit

yeah i have done this, not alot performance wise well noticeable, just the induction noise seemed louder so...... do it haha
You mean it was not that much better performance but still noticeable or not noticeable at all (apart from induction noise)?

Apparently I could do it with some files... so I'm thinking about doing it.

no wasnt very noticable. lol have fun with the files.... i went and brought alluminium blades for the jigsaw and cut out the middle bit then brought some "special" alluminium tips for the end of the drill/die grinder and ground out the rest then got sand paper to make it nice and smooooth that alone took me 2 hours all up!

His head is ported to 35mm, so it would be a step in the wrong direction. (I installed Mitch's engine with him)

Don't discourage the boy from hard work, he need to work those "skinny girl chicken mussels"

Just don't get metal filings in the engine

Its called a die grinder kiddies!

Would take care of that sort of thing in no time and gives you a bit of control over where/how much to remove.

Once you have the "meat" taken out of it, then hit it with a semi-round file, rat tail file for the corners you cannot get to, then some sand paper to knock any sharp points that are left.

Same principle that applies to match porting manifolds applies here.

I know nothing about porting haha. Also I don't have a die grinder. :P
