PHATKE20S Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) Spotted a free camping site (Toilet/Shower & Power) just out of Kilcoy yesterday in my travels. I was thinking that it would be great for an overnight stay after a nice afternoon/evening run through some great countryside. There's also a few interesting good dirt roads.....coming down the range behind Toogoolawah. Maybe we could go some time in mid January, after the silly season is over :P Let's throw some dates up there for comment............ Edited December 15, 2008 by PHATKE20S Quote
JiP Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 i actually was going to plan one for January. Phat...30 was saying that the pine forest would be a good location i think on that last friday night run we did. Or we could do Straddie? I'd love to camp out on a beach. But whatever everyone else wants is cool. Quote
AE80Rollaguy Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I do like the sound of a camping trip over to straide or one of the islands!! as we can all take our cars over there safely and still be able to camp right next to the beach!! but what ever is decided I'm sure it will be a great time and would love to come!! Dunno bout the dirt roads tho dougy... not in my cars any ways hehe :P Quote
PHATKE20S Posted November 24, 2008 Author Report Posted November 24, 2008 Yeah Tory...the dirt roads are optional (depending on the EOI) Yeah JiP the Straddie idea might work aswell as long as it's fairly cheap (remember i have no job :P ) I've never been to Straddie so it could be a goer....... JiP Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 Is this area remote?? Like will there be people around?? Personally I'd wana be in the middle of no where so we can be as loud as we want. As for dates, up to everyone else. Just make sure you don't clash with the dinner. Quote
PHATKE20S Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 OK mate dates fixed up now.....10th January not available....ooops As for the location, it's on the edge of town so maybe we could find a better spot....... Quote
JiP Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 I do think it would be cool to camp out on a beach or even at the forest. Quote
PHATKE20S Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 Yeah mate...as long as there are facilities we could go wherever we wanted i suppose. Anyone got any more suggestions........ Quote
JiP Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 I say do it like a man. Take a spade and toilet paper. Quote
PHATKE20S Posted December 1, 2008 Author Report Posted December 1, 2008 I've heard about a Camping area at Somerset Dam.....Anyone been there before? Apparently they have Toilets/Showers......... Not far from where i was originally thinking about, so we could still have some fun on the unsealed roads in the area......... Quote
