hey all,

i bought this corolla 2 months ago, :(

the story is that an old lady owned it up until 4 months ago when a student bought it while his

4WD was getting fixed, it's done genuine 102000 k's and i payed 1200 for it and spent 150 on bog and other assorted items to make

it look "road worthy" for the cops. :bash:

i think it is worth the $1350

whats your opinion??: :hmm:

got some tar remover for behind the front wheels

umm I'm tossing up whether to go with a 4a-c or just go all out with a 4age

while the engine is out I'm gonna paint it either blood red, escort orange or black w/racing stripes :)

lowering it, adjustable shocks, new radiator.

pretty much gonna go all out in the next 2 years

i payed $300 for the engine but its not in very good condition,

i hope its only got blown head gasket not cracked head,

it needs 90% of the attachments, like water pump and cam timing gear that attaches to the crank.

its my project, hoping to have it up and running within 6 months as i have little money to spend and doing whole rebuiild myself

I have spare flywheels if you need one, It will need to be machined.

front of the motor, I'm in dire need or the gear that goes on the crank shaft and all the water pump and pipes etc

You can still buy the crank gear brand new from Toyota, I think it was $32.

one friggen rounded bolt holding the cam of place,

Could be worse, One of the rear exhaust cam cap bolts in may panelvan has a helicoil holding it in and that is only because I was tightening the covers down and the nut bottomed out on the thread and caused it to turn stripping the thread.

While your at it mark your buckets and shims like this:

I1,I2,I3,I4,I5,I6,I7,I8

E1,E2,E3,E4,E5,E6,E7,E8

sweet thanks man, didnt think toyota sold many parts for bigports anymore.

I'm taking bout 6 months to strip and clean everything and get ready to put back on,

i might take less time than this as my school gives almost no homework :D

i want this finished in less than a year so i can have my car running while I'm on my p's

:fuzz:I'm gonna do it all legal so no yellow stickers for me:fuzz:

You will be suprised at what they carry, The only thing I could not buy from toyota here in Aus is the heater bypass pipe.

cost count so far: $950

took off the head today and cleaned a all the carbon off the valves

spark plugs i took out of it were NGK Iridium's and still in really good condition :D

also decided on paint colour, medium-dark blue :(

my dirty pistons, cylinders need to be honed

post-6811-1237713922_thumb.jpg

valves are coated in a massive layer of carbon, running this on premium/ultimate from now on

:P just found out yesterday that my head is bent, need to pay a mate $500 to get it straightened and all put back together.

upside of this is that my head will be better than new when i get it back, and will be ready to go straight back on.

i have painted my extractors and rocker covers black, still need to put a clear coat on.

used VHT 800°C paint

hopefully ill have this in my car by my birthday, 15 october, so that i can do some b-day dirt drifting.
