_FNQ_rolla_ Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 just a little teaser haha f@$k me thats a big turbo. slighty larger then a GT35R in size. hinting at a built engine? What RPM do you think you will have full spool by? What are you setting this car up for; ¼ mile strip car Dyno Queen Or an all rounder All the best Quote
StasIII Posted August 22, 2011 Author Report Posted August 22, 2011 full spool should be seen around 4700- 5000 , rev limiter is going to be set at 8800rpm. I'm really not to sure to be honest , i want the car to be handy enough to go around a race track and be quick enough to do a 10 second quarter mile time. HIGH ROLLER - shut up u ! lol  Quote
StasIII Posted August 22, 2011 Author Report Posted August 22, 2011 i really didnt want the t28 , front mount and boost like everyone else , i wanted something to really scare me when i take it for a drive. Quote
BUZ440 Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Its an impressive build, but how much power will get to the ground to scare you? 350hp atw with semis will get you into mid to high 10's Even a 3071r would do the job and have boost throughout the rev range Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 You're right, a conrod through the bonnet at 8800 would scare most people. There is a reason people run the gt28rs, boost from pratically idle, with 300rwhp in a 800kg car, power-on burnouts at 80kph. :hmm: Would be real close to getting you that 10sec 1/4 as well. Anyways, not trying to be rude, i do love this car, just sayin'. Quote
StasIII Posted August 22, 2011 Author Report Posted August 22, 2011 engine builder atm has said around the 350-370wrkw ( which is around 500rwhp ) is not outta the question. Quote

_FNQ_rolla_ Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 I hope that size turbo works out for you, because you would hate it if it turns out to be a cranky unfriendly street driven vehicle. I’ve driven some cars with a huge turbo on the street and some come off boost (revs drop too low) while changing gears and lag before they come on boost again. As you would know a turbo being too large for an engine will have a very narrow power band in the top end of the rev range (it would be a real lag monster). Not being a hater as I can and do appreciate any build of this quality, which yours is and I hope the engine/turbo combo works out. All the best Quote

StasIII Posted August 23, 2011 Author Report Posted August 23, 2011 yes , a engine is being built on the side , the engine in the car atm is a dummy so i could make the intercooler pipes and the like. The turbo was chosen to suit the engine modifications. It will be a little lazy but thats what I'm after, After all it still has a baby tyre on the rear and the last thing i would have wanted was full boost my 3000rpm to smoke the tyres stright away, this way the car will leave the line and progressivly come on strong , rather then blowing the tyres stright away. Good stuff, with a built engine it all makes sense, it will be an animal. Keep the updates coming! Edited August 24, 2011 by oh what a nissan feeling! Quote
BUZ440 Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 I'm sure the smile on his face will say it all haha Wait till you pump some E85 into her, and methanol additive Will be a machine Quote
StasIII Posted August 24, 2011 Author Report Posted August 24, 2011 oh what a feeling - In all honestly who really know what the car is going to do ? , ill come to that brigde when i get to it. Being a light car with a decent amount of horsepower , it was a wiser decision to go down this part, if it doesnt work, ill reorganise the setup. NISROLA - id rather keep the car on 98 for now ,i want to get use to it first. Ill proberly end up putting c16 or something of that nature in it , i want to keep away from E85. Quote
