Hey thought I'd start a thread for my newest Rolla which I picked up a few weeks ago off a young chick around the corner from mine.

Basically its a 1983 AE71 CS Corolla auto. I am the third owner and it has done 187,000km.

Bronze in colour, with gold pinstripes. Really good paint, some of it has been resprayed in the past. Pretty straight body, small dent in bonnet just with the usual rust in the rear. Interior is overrated condition tan vinyl/wool, pretty comfy and the seats are alot more supportive than the KE20 and KE30 seats I'm used to.

Of course being and AE71 it has the 4AC 1.6-litre which has alot more poke than a K engine, and the auto just makes it pimp to drive lol, oh yeah and it has air conditioning! yeeewww

At the moment its stock as a rock, just got a basic Kenwood mp3/cd player which the previous owner put in, running standard speakers. I got my Pioneer gear which I'll chuck in; mp3 head unit, 6x9s, 12" sub, amp blah blah

Also rolling on overrated 15-inch Sigma Turbo rims polished up nice and shiny, with 195/50 tyres which I just got whitewalled done this morning, looks pretty mickey mouse.

Just gonna lower it (read; slam it on its arse), around 2-inches at the front and either 2.5" or 3" at the rear.

Has granny louvres on the back window, dashmat and factory mudlaps too which will be coming off when I lower it.

Been looking for one of these since I got my license nearly 3 years ago, so I should be keeping this one for a while just driving it daily.

Will get pics up when my camera cable decides to work :)

Cheers, Ben.

Hi, this sounds like a good project, looking forward to seeing some current photos when your camera works, And eventually seeing the finished product. Are you going to give the car some some of the senior citizen enhancements. Like a rear venetian, sunvisor or the like? I gave my ke70 the rear venetian, weathershield and finely outlined the side walls of my tyres white, to give it the old school flavour..

Looking forward to seeing more progress with this car.

Thanks, Ben.

Sounds like a good car, its interesting that it came with aircon, I was under the impression that it was only found in CS-X's (I've had 3 CS-X's and they all had aircon).

And get rid of those mudflaps quickly, they really help the car to rust in the rear arches.

Mate your KE70 is so fukin overrated. Love it ay

yeah its already got the granny factor going on haha, got louvres, mudflaps and towbar.

Its not really a project as such, just need to lower it, put my stezza in and I'm looking at getting the rust fixed at the moment.

Yeah I have never seen a CS with air conditioning either, a good find I think. Also I always thought that AE71's were only 1984, yet mine is a 1983?

And yeah the mudflaps do help the rust in the rear quarters, unfortunately its too late to worry about now, already has a fair bit of rust especially the passengers side.

Thanks Mitch, yeah always wanted a AE71, just to turn into a cheap drifter/hills car, but this one is too clean/original.

It definitely looks different to other KE70/AE71's with the granny look going on, and the 15s with whitewalls.

Cheers, Ben.

looks smicko ben, just need to be lowered and maybe some chrome bumpers :)

Cheers Ryan, yeah its definitely gonna be lowered about 2 inches at front and about 2.5 at the rear. Don't know about chrome bumpers though, they only suit flat fronts/quads imo. Wouldn't mind jdm slant bumpers though, which are partly chrome. For now it can stay stock though haha

Looking at the pics I have to put my surround back in around my head unit, will wait til i put my head unit in though.

Cheers, Ben.

Phat Phat PHAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! sooo ill. don't even lower it man, keep it ridin high.

Cheers Mitch, yeah it looks cool in the pics ay. but in the flesh it looks mega high

Gonna have killer stance, slammed all round, little lower in the arse end lol, how all Rollas should be.

On another note the KE30 has been sitting in my driveway for two weeks looking pretty neglected, covered in dust and pollen. Took it for a spin last night and again just before and fuk its fun to drive. Now reping black stockies, looks very understated since its not even low. Gets no looks without the SSR's as long as your putting aound, which is more fun

My KE20 is still sitting in a shed, havent done any work to it yet lol thinking of just registering it again, slamming it, walls, and just cruising it on weekends for now.

Anyone keen for a cruise later in the year? Henry and I are pretty keen to get some Rollaz together for a good cruise some Friday night, pose it up thru town, down to bay and maybe hills?

Cheers, Ben.
