I went to see some guys i know at a holden wreckers and the asking price for a 253 and tri combo was around $1200 8/ but only 300 more for a 308 and tri.

 

Holy crap, 1200. You can pick up a decent setup from ebay for about 300 or a bit more. Got to aussiev8.com.au and check they're for sale section. They're should be someone on there upgrading and wanting to get rid of they're old motor.

 

I guess it depends on how long you want it to last, but if its just for a burnout car it should be no trouble.

 

If 253's are worth 1200 ill be laughing when i swap mine out!

 

Maybe follow up the one below if its still for sale! Shift kit would be awesome in the Rolla!

You'd want a pretty healthy engine/box

 

and either a string rear end, or skinny tyres/locker/start burnout in water

Most people don't care what the car is worth when finished. Part of building a car is knowing you won't get back what you spent. I think the enjoyment Ryan will have when its built will outway how much the shell will be worth when stripped of parts

Have you seen some of the burnout cars out there? Go ask the owner how much time and money went into it, then ask them if they think it was a waste of money.

 

I don't wanna be ripping skids in my daily, i use it to get to work and don't wanna fark it up and get in the shit with the 5-0. I've had enough of them for the time being.
