SLO-030 Posted December 25, 2008 Author Report Posted December 25, 2008 (edited) I only taped off the reflector because if its parked on the side of a dark street i don't want anything increasing the chance of somone not seeing it. I could darken the lights even more, i'd just be the case of getting LED lights to replace the bulbs. Edited December 25, 2008 by SLO-030 Quote
Trev Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 Looks good but is defetctable, I did mine on the seca one night and left the reverse lights clear, Looked pretty good. Quote
SLO-030 Posted December 25, 2008 Author Report Posted December 25, 2008 I wouldnt say its that dark it would really be an issue. I mean you can get tinted tail lights off the shelf aswel. While i had both tail light assembelies out the thought of doin something like the mazdas had. Polished stainless plate with 3 round lights. maybe. Quote
Trev Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 The lights are no longer red, yellow/orange & white, And the ones off the shelf are not legal, Clear tail lights are illeagal unless you get the proper manufacturer card. Quote
SLO-030 Posted December 25, 2008 Author Report Posted December 25, 2008 Well looking at them (not at a picture) they are still pretty red. and those are only the parkers. Quote
KE30_KE35_KE55 Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 Well looking at them (not at a picture) they are still pretty red. and those are only the parkers. they look good but maybe defectable. or worst still if there was an accident lets say a car rear ended you and the other driver said they couldn't see your lights the insurance company may try to make you pay. Tume Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 It's a pitty seeing as they do look good. Then again fashion isn't better then the law. If there was some way for this to work and still be legal though I would be interested. Quote
trav_555 Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 i washed mine off today with turps, didnt like it anyway ;) Quote
SLO-030 Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 So its removable with turps ay? Quote
trav_555 Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 yea man, well on an e7, try a lil bit on yours first to make sure it dosent darn the plastic ;) Quote
SLO-030 Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 Shouldn't crap the plastic. Goin to UPI tomorrow so i'll try get a better left tail light as the one i currently has is more faded than the right hand side. Might even grab another good set and darken the one i currently have even more for when i take it to show and shines, like i do with me ute. Quote
SLO-030 Posted December 30, 2008 Author Report Posted December 30, 2008 new 4K's gonna need to be dropped in soon. I have a feeling the current ones packing it in, slowly. Added things up and looks like it will cost about $1000 to get the SC setup running. That doesnt include Fuel system as i already had half of the stuff i need. nor does it inclde plumbing as i can make it from the scrap at my exhaust place. Quote
