SROLLA Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 (edited) Hey guys, i bought this KE55 about 2 years ago now for $100 (77,543 k's |blink|), it had a few bad patches of rust and we ending up doing some damage while out one night. So i decided i'd buy a parts car, cost me $500. Took pretty much everything off of it and then had it towed away. My mate decided he'd upgrade his 180 to an 2JZ and sold me his engine,(90,000 k's) i was pretty stoked. From there, the parts slowly started rolling in, starting with around 3k of audio gear, 1k in seats and another 5k on performance parts which include - Garrett 3076 turbo, Tial 38mm wastegate, Nismo 740cc injectors, Z32 AFM, HKS coilovers for the front with Cusco strut tops, custom NPC 650hp rated clutch and flywheel, custom high-mount manifold (tuned length), Saber boost, oil pressure, water temp and oil temp gauges. Probably forgot alot of stuff. Then the money stopped. This was a sad time, i thought i could slowly save up and buy all the parts and fix her up, but it was going to take too long. So i took out a loan. Around 1 week later, the car was towed down to Predator Motorsports who put the engine and gearbox in, which cost a fortune. $2,350 to be exact. I wasn't happy with the price, but pleased with the outcome. I had no spare time to work on it, because at this stage, i was working 70-80 hours a week, 6 days. I didn't feel like working on it on my 1 day off, just slept. So it sat there for a further 9 months untill i quit my job and got a new job which ofcourse, paid less but i only worked 38 hours and had 2 days off. Good times. Unfortunatly, i've lost the drive to work on it, mainly because of the rain and not having assistance. The small things have been getting done slowly, but not at a rate i'm happy with. I haven't fully decided on all of the parts needed, like diff and rear brakes. Oh, and it has S13 brakes on the front, was going to redrill R32 GTR brakes, but will be on good behaviour bond and don't really feel like losing it for a silly defect. Anyway, enough chat. Here's some photos. Edited November 5, 2008 by SROLLA Pics made to fit a bit better. :) Quote
duggy Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 wow that is so cool thing will be insane when you get it all done. and also what diff you running Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Man this is very cool. Just look at it, isnt that enough motivation? |blink| Where are you from? Quote
SROLLA Posted November 5, 2008 Author Report Posted November 5, 2008 (edited) I'm tossing up between a R31 LSD, Hilux LSD or Corona LSD. Well, it is enough in some ways, but it others not. I live near Chermside. I'm hoping to have the car finished very shortly. Few more pictures. Dummied up the gauges today, unsure of where/how i want them, so by all means, feel free to throw up some advice. Also, the twin subs in the rear are just dummied up, making mounts while i write this. Edited November 5, 2008 by SROLLA Quote

furryfrog Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Looks nice, for the gauges i have mine under the heater controls, not in the way of my legs, boost is on the column. any chance you could get a few pics of your engine mounts? ive gotta take my motor out so its giving me a chance to do them again. oh what a nissan feeling! Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 (edited) Chermside, nice and close, good to see you're still working on it. Mine should be hitting the road again within the next 6 months, build race? That might get you inspired! Edited November 5, 2008 by oh what a nissan feeling! Quote
SROLLA Posted November 5, 2008 Author Report Posted November 5, 2008 I thought about mounting them there, although where they are they aren't in the way of my legs at all. But it think it looks a tad tacky. Boost is mounted in the dash (see photo where the clock used to be). I will get you some better photos of the mounts when it's not raining. Quote
SROLLA Posted November 5, 2008 Author Report Posted November 5, 2008 Haha. Build race eh? You're on. What do you have left to do on yours though? I don't think i'll have too much $$ leftover for the respray. So you won't really be able to miss this shit-heap (looking) car cruising around. It'll be blue, white and primer. Yeeeeaah!! Quote
HIGH ROLLER Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Sick ride. Don't give up champ!!! but yeh money is a prob for most people i guess (me 2)... What's the size of ur turbine housing?....0.sumtin A/r? Quote
SROLLA Posted November 5, 2008 Author Report Posted November 5, 2008 Front housing is 0.62 and the rear is 0.82. It's good for around 500hp. Should be fun when the screamer goes in. :) Quote
cuzzo Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Well done winding the odometer back lol She should move with that much hp projected. Quote

Should be fun when the screamer goes in. :) ahh so its the big sucka! sweet... I ask because I'm using a gt3076r on my 4agte...but it has a much smaller 0.48 rear housing, same as t25...still good for 450ish hp tho, and externally gated aswell :) any more pics? Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 :) those power figures are a bit optimistic guys, yes you will both make very good power but nowhere near the figures you have quoted. That is unless you plan on running C16 and 25+ psi Quote
SROLLA Posted November 5, 2008 Author Report Posted November 5, 2008 (edited) Sorry, the turbo is rated at 500hp. I'm tuning it to 250-odd-hp at the wheels untill the loan is paid off, then i will take the car off the road and rebuild the whole engine with aftermarket gear. Should be good for a safe 25+psi every day. I have plenty of photos, just random shit though. But i'll post anyway. If anyone wants any photos taken of certain things, i'm quite happy to do so. Dummied up, before getting HPC coated. Courtesy of a workshop..They bought a new one.. Interesting clearance. All looks ok. Edited November 5, 2008 by SROLLA Quote
