67Rolla-Ken Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 1UZFE's go hard! I thrashed mine everywhere I went, and it never missed a beat. Quote
macca__1590 Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 (edited) that would be sic!! then throw some of these on their http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Ba8sT2BQ4uc and it would probly be lighter as well Edited November 1, 2008 by macca__1590 Quote
brendan Posted November 1, 2008 Author Report Posted November 1, 2008 (edited) i noticed form 0-100 a 351 pulls you in the seat but the 1u is totally different after 100 is where the g-force is...i was thinkin if i can piss off the fuel injection and carby it it'l be good ,saves me the hassle of computer etc etc, but not sure if they made a manifold to suit carbs for the 1u? what are itb's never heard of them? Edited November 1, 2008 by brendan Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 IMO if it already has the mounts for a 351 your better of putting that back in. The money you save from not having to make new mounts etc could be put towards engine mods on the 351 Quote
brendan Posted November 1, 2008 Author Report Posted November 1, 2008 (edited) capa supercharges said that i can get a 1000 hp out of a 1u without havin to touch the bottom end so I'm just thinkin if it would be worth it i riped out the 351 because i put it bak in my ltd .all the modifactions i do myself so it wouldnt cost me much ...just the materials has a 1uzfe even been attempted in a corolla Edited November 1, 2008 by brendan Quote
irokin Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 1000hp on standard internals? I seriously doubt it. I've seen a properly built 1200hp 1UZ crack the cylinder block good and proper. CAPA tend to dribble a fair bit of shit in my opinion. There are 1UZ corollas around the traps, you certainly wont be the first. Quote
brendan Posted November 1, 2008 Author Report Posted November 1, 2008 yeah thats what i thought ...that was a load of crap till just about everyone told me the same thing i suppose it'l be like the 351 ....still can't get it engineered for the street Quote
macca__1590 Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 what are itb's never heard of them? individual throttle bodies Quote

The Piranha Racing lexus hotrod still runs the standard crank but has aftermarket pistons & rods. Quote
philbey Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 Definitely go 1UZ, isnt it all alloy? vs a Cast Iron 351! Should be much lighter. As for Carbs you'd have to fab up a manifold, run triple deuces poking out the bonnet. That would be funny as.... Quote
