I Think i need a wheel alignment :jamie:

Mods so far.

King springs all round, xt130 arms, nolathane bush's on sway bar mount, Performance mesh 15x6 with gold centres (back wheels will be on this week), and then going to be running 195/50/ r 15 simes all round. Main idea of the car is just to have a nice daily that will be fun to drive but also won't get me in trouble. Future plans are some ae86 coilovers, velo bucket seat (this week), maybe a roll cage and either 4age or 5k.

Welcome, you have a preety clean Corolla indeed, nice to see another clean white ke70 around. Your intentions on the car sound good and sensible, without attracting too much unwanted attention. keep us posted as you work on it.

Thanks guys, I live near the city. Yea hopefully they will be clean mods. Haha

Also forgot to say thanks to littleredspirit for helping me put the springs and what not in yesterday! Have managed to straighten the steering a bit, but still need some work. Hopefully put a radiator in it sometime this week, also i might trial fit some te71 panels and lights. See how that goes.

All four rims went on this baby today along with four new tyres. Allignment tommorow arvo. I am also picking up a 5k very soon, so I will start building that up. Matchporting heads, even length headers, maybe set of weber su's on it. Hopefully I will have k50 in this weekend along with the new radiator just in time for the sunny coast cruise. I am in love with this car at the moment :) Hahahaha

Glad... The stock rims on the back made it look cheap! Need some pics of your ride with all four rims.

How did the TE71 panel trial fit go? I'm interested to know.

ps.

Finally got the radiator in tonight, what a drama that was. For some reason, I don't think i got the right radiator. The one i got has two breather holes down the bottom, and the fan shrouding doesn't really line up. So I'm not sure what the G O is there. Haven't driven her this week, which is giving me withdrawls seeing it sitting on my driveway! But Owell, was fun just giving it a quick run about tonight. Will hopefully post pics of how its sitting with new wheels and tyres. If not tommorow, then friday after I give it a good wash. Cruise this weekend hopefully if she is running great!

The extra 2 fittings on the bottom are only relevant to autos. You would have worked out that its of little consequence by now. Its looking great!

God, that was a really long delay for some photos. Here is the update:

Wheel alignment is done. Caster has been wound forward abit, i will give exact specs on it soon, but it is driving awesome right now. Cannot complain! I'll give a shout out to my wheel alligner luke, cuz I am really happy with the set up. If anyone needs his number just give me a bell.

Radiator is in. Cooling problems are all fixed now. Run's overrated, i'm not so nervous to drive it for long periods of time now.

All four wheels are on. And it looks DOPE! I am really happy with the way it has turned out, and had to agree with little red spirit when he said "I'm glad to see all four of these rims making a ke70 look good". Well it was something like that anyway.

k50 still isnt in, i will do that when i'm not lazy and i can put it up on a hoist and do it in an hour. Haha.

Acquired a 5k bottom end, which i will build up quickly, then just send it to an engineering shop to get bored, and balanced. Mean while i will probably start working on a 4k head, match porting and all that sort of JAZ. As you guys can probably tell, things move slowly around this way :P Here are a few shots i just jammed up tonight. I will do a proper photoshoot soon hopefully. Might see if we can get the westside reppers to have a photoshoot somewere local.

Matchporting heads, ........, maybe set of weber su's on it.

Matchporting heads? its only got one head, and matchporting usually refers to manifold-inlet/exhaust ports. (ie matching the port shape of the inlet manifold to that of the inlet ports of the head)

And webers and SUs are brands of carby, two different brands.

weber are an italian company (solex, dellorto etc are copies of weber carbs) and come in a large range of configurations (side draught, down draught, twin throat etc etc)

SU carbs are/were made by a british company and generally speaking are a single throated, vacuum actuated (rising piston through air pressure) carby.

Also, your last post, send your bits off to a machine shop before you start building the engine, They will balance the rotation assembly (pistons, crank, rods etc) out of the engine, and the block needs to be stripped down to be bored aswell.

Other then that, gung ho mate! get stuck into it.

Yea, bad spelling mistake with head, I know what matchporting is haha. Didn't know that about the carbs though. Thanks for the info :D

The block is already in pieces, I am just going to rebuild it all to make sure everything is there. I am still not sure what parts I am going to replace, so that is why I am going to rebuild it, and just check what condition everything is in. Obviously I will need new bearings and what not.

Bit of an update. Put my recaro in this tonight, and it took all bloody night. Word of advice: Don't buy shit seat rails! Just modify your stock ones! Ordered seat rail that was suited for recaro ae86...I knew that I would have to mod the Rail-floor system, but the bloody rail-seat holes didnt even line up! Anyway, sending away to get it modplated tommorow, then will mount it completely different so its lower, and has more leg room. Pics soon.
