rwdrolla Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 hmms. drove home on 3 cylinders and no headlights tonight thanks to a trusty 30Amp alternator.... oh, and a bent a rim, and destroyed half an axle and hub :D Quote
David[RL] Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 that's bad :D I have problem with my alternator too.. doesn't charge the battery.. it's either the brushes or the cable Quote
rwdrolla Posted March 21, 2005 Author Report Posted March 21, 2005 How did you bend the rim and destroy the axle? honestly...gutter and poor driving skill. car is at auto electricians now, awaiting a new alternator. RAA told me that my 800W sub in the boot might have something to do with my alternator struggling.... 300W amplifier - 25amps peak. + headlights + headunit + other things = no wonder the little guy gave up Quote
Xany Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 hmm......i know mine aint really keeping up with: 400w amp running two 12" subs. 4X50W amp running cabin speakers headunit headlights driving light (when on highbeam) dash cluster. i'll just wait till it dies and get a bigger one...maybe off a hilux or something.
