hi there guys,

how are ya.

I'm new here and I'm from dandenong ,victoria.

ok well iv just brought a 1994 ae94 corolla csi limited 5 speed sedan, nice green in color with 1.6 efi twin cam.

ok I'm after some info please.

whats the largest diameter rims you can fit under these cars please ??

and whats the widest tyres also??

I'm looking to buy some Lenso rs5 rims in 17"x 7" wide with 205/215 mm tyres but i would like to go 18/19" possible ??

and i would fit some King springs lowered coils and get them compressed as well.

any on here have any nice pics please to share of any corollas near the model i have ??

and any other mods to do to it as well my be??

iv added a sports wheel and gear knob ,tinted windows,3" dump pipe e.c.t as well.

hope to hear some replies/help,pictures.

cheers guys

thanks

glen

welcome aboard

IMHO 17's is that max you want to go, there are corollas out there with 18's on them, while i personally don't like them others may.

probably the largest tire width you would want to go with is 205(i run 205's without a problem), and i do believe 215's are a tight squeeze(some correct me if I'm wrong)

my recommendation for suspension is, new springs, shocks, bushes(rubber or polyurethane), and maybe a front and rear swaybar as well. just depends on how much money you have/want to spend.

heres a link to my seca >>AE93 SX Seca

then if you want more info there is always Twincam.org

Okay, got pics of the wheels then?? To be honest I'm really keen on knowing what an AE94 is. I've seen and heard of AE92's but thats it. My knowledge lies with RWD, mainly the third generation.

JiP, i'll really confuse you then :hmm: since the ae9x chassis goes from ae90 - ae96 with variations that include sedans, hatches, liftbacks, coupes and wagons :D

I'm currently running 16x 6.5, but looking at going back to a 15x7 at little later, mainly due to a the look I'm trying to achieve.

clear side indicators i do believe people use the ones off of the VT/VX commodore.

the only other grill you can use is one of the 89 - 91 hatch/sedan like in the picture below which is a straight fit.(and before you ask, yes its my old car)

Picture012.jpg

or if you could go with the FXGT look which requires removing the filler panel under the headlights then changing the the bonnet/headlights/grill/front bar and quite possibly the front gaurd to look like below, not an easy task considering it would require painting but its still an option

Photo-0020_005.jpg

the above options are a few that are available using genuine parts from either a corolla or nova(rebaged corolla) (sourcing the FXGT grill would be the hardest item to find)

hmmm white on a green car not feeling it, plus you could be forever cleaning them so they stay white.

i personally would stick with the black with the polished lip.

buts these are only my opinions, its ultimately up to you what you do with your car, just so long as your happy with what you and how it turns out.

hi there stik,

thanks for your reply and helpful info!!

i went to toyospares bayswater and i found a factory strut brace for $50 and small swap clear side guard indicators for $15 each.

and i got a spare csi limited grille for $50.

they also have 4a-ge twin cam 20 valve for $1,750 inc wire loom.

so in the picture above, will those side mirrors fit my model 1994 csi ae92??

what about bonnet scoops, what would look good??

may be a wrx air scoop??

cheers

sounds like you got some nice goodies already.

the mirrors on the the mirrors on fxgt should be a direct bolt up, but considering yours was built in 1994 it should have similar mirrors already.

as for scoops IMHO are just rice unless you have a something under the scoop ie top mount intercooler, or a air feed for the the air cleaner. but if you must have one i recommend one from an ae92 gtz

heres a gtz scoop on a seca

I'm unsure of the size as i just copied the picture from twincam.org. wouldnt surprise if they were similar there are plenty of similar wheel designs floating round these days
