Not positive but I think he's gonna go Hilux diff instead??

 

Still have to take me for a strap in this thing Ryan :bash:

 

Would love to own this, then I wouldn't be tempted to go N/A 13B in my stocka haha

yeah after a few talks with people on the know ive opted to not go with a 9inch, looking at either a hilux or R31 diff.

 

But until the rear lets go again the stockie stays, ive been trying to break it..... second and third gear ringies, clutch kicking third and a few hard changes and its still hasnt broken. It seem that with the stockies on the back the rear end holds up pretty well, we all know that stuff only breaks with theres grip and with the stockies theres not a great deal of that haha

 

Interior will be receiving a few changes shortly as well, CD/MP3 player in the glovebox, speco fuel gauge and tacho placed in the right bezel in the dash :bash:

 

EDIT: yeah i havent forgotten benzo, ill have the car out and about this week and over the weekend. Shot me a PM and we can arrange something.......

Its not the power that breaks things, its the torque. But even so, I'm suprised at how long shes lasted. Tell all the drag boys to stick their 9 inches and get a K series diff.

you can buy my white rims for more grip?

cheers for the offer, i still wouldnt mind trial fitting them

 

But if i wanted more grip id chuck my other 15's on with 195's or my 14's with 225

 

Very true torque and grip its what breaks stuff.

You can test fit them if you want, I'm taking the last two off the car now, the back left one has abit of rash now because the merc bounced off of my rim :bash: its not that bad, i can send pics if you want.

snapped another axle on the weekend, ive got a few spare ( :yes: ) so that was an easy fix. Thought id take the car out to make sure everything was all good. I think i managed to go about 10k's before i snapped the rear yoke on the tailshaft again.

 

Car ran out of rego today so think ill take it off the road and do the diff upgrade. Currently looking at a shortened hilux with a 4.11 locked centre :jamie:

 

Brakes, exhaust and g/box xmember mods will all be done at the same time.

Agreed, i think all the 4WD hilux diffs are LSD dunno about the 2WD tray top suckers, which diff are you going for ?

 

Will LSD or locker depend on budget ?

 

Are you looking at going disc rear ? :y:

Why not go LSD? I'm sure there are LSD centers available for Hilux diffs.

Theres a several models which came out with only a single spinner.

 

No, I love my locker! budget isnt an issue, if i find the car to hard to turn with wider rims/tyres on the back ill upgrade to either an LSD or mechanical air locker.

 

Will stick with drums on the rear to begin with, i think disks will upset the brake bias too much. But we'll just wait and see, it's easy enough to convert to a disk rear end so it can be done later down the track if feel the need

Shes a sweet (if not ridiculously overpowered) ride... can't wait to see the front lift up when you finally sort out the traction issues haha

also i may have to see if we can make 2 sets of front brake upgrades out of the bits i gave you... i don't think mine will stop well either even with a lot less power.

yeah for sure, those struts still havent moved from where we first put them at my house. We shouldnt have to much trouble making two good sets from them.
