greenmac80 Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) ok 4ag into ke30/55 few questions. wiring the two together. obviously you need to wire your ignition switch into it. give the ecu constant power. question is though. how to wire the fuel pumps? do they got o the ecu? or to the body loom? same with the starter motor? also is there a control module that controls the idle when headlights etc come one? in the body loom? because i would like to wire this into the ecu. please help. been going absolutely crosseyed looking at these diagrams! Littleredspirit? or chris gt? you guys help? Edited October 22, 2008 by blackrolla80 Quote
Medicine_Man Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 most conversions you leave your body harness as is and just splice what you need across to the engine harness. Fuel pump normally grounds out through the ECU, though you can run it off a switch/ignition if you want to be dodgy.. Headlights should have nothing to do with idle.. Quote
greenmac80 Posted October 22, 2008 Author Report Posted October 22, 2008 when you turn say headlights and demister and heater on all together the revs of your car changes does it not? get slower or faster? the 4age ecus have a control in them to compensate for the sudden power drain? i could be wrong! ok the fuel pumps ground to the ecu but where do they get the pwer from? any acc.? or straight from battery? so if the body loom is left alone then there is only about 2-3 wires to worry about? signal, grounding and constant power? Medicine_Man Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 Don't get me wrong, Your engine revs will be slightly affected by the increased load on the electrical system when you turn your lights etc on, But the ECU doesn't have an idle up for that. Only A/C idle up that I'm aware of, Some power steering racks increase revs when steering at idle too.. Power for your fuel pump is normally run through a circuit opening relay.. http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?tit...ng_Relay_Wiring ECU side of things normally battery, Ignition, crank signal, frame return. Don't forget you will have to wire in your alternator too, thermo fan(s) etc.. Quote

Medicine_Man Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 well you will most likely be going from a bosch to denso alternator, so totally different type of alternator. Davies Craig setup is perfect for a thermo fan setup. Circuit Open Relay can be found at the wreckers, Don't waste money on a new one.. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 get denso ones NOT bosch, will last twice as long. Quote
greenmac80 Posted October 22, 2008 Author Report Posted October 22, 2008 ok power in- straight from battery. keeps the computer memory alive. acc in- i get from ignition barrel. but to what ecu pin? fuel relay i get now thanks medicine man. i have an auto ecu. so the nuetral start switch i earth to the starter relay. ok wats next? had a look and i don't get the CAS bit?
