Brock Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 G'day everone! A friend and I have recently got our hands on a KE70, $350 and thought it was quite a steal! It needs a few things to make roadworthy (supposed new radiator hose and the rear diff is leaking) and it still has rego to Feb 09  What we're currently doing is sanding it all back and priming it ready for a new spray. Neither of us know much about the mechanical side of things and if any of you guys could give us a hand it would be greatly appreciated!! I've started a blog, documenting the stages as we go with pretty pictures. KE70.TUMBLR.COM (exactly that) Some feedback would be excellent on what we've done/ can do. Regards. Quote
anastasios Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 why don't ya try and find a tacho dash? make it look more cleaner Quote
Brock Posted October 21, 2008 Author Report Posted October 21, 2008 I like the boro-ness off it haha. I'm not being too fussy on the interior yet as most of my earnings is going on the outside, paint, wheels, springs, and well a new back seat as it has nothing in there. Quote
Roo Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 where abouts are you? looks like a lot of work ahead of you Quote
Brock Posted October 21, 2008 Author Report Posted October 21, 2008 On the Sunshine Coast, so we have to be quick before the salt air get on it. Quote
Brock Posted October 22, 2008 Author Report Posted October 22, 2008 The other night i tried taking the dash off the car but I couldnt get the top part off. i removed all the screws that were visable but it still seemed it was clipped in or something where the vents are? Any help would be great. Quote
7shades Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 If you're talking about the entire dash top (the crash pad) you've gotta remove pretty much everything underneath, and there are a whole bunch o 10mm bolts attaching it to the firewall. Right at the top. Prick of a job :laff: Quote
Brock Posted October 22, 2008 Author Report Posted October 22, 2008 oh bugger, i might just take it out and leave it out for the time being. maybe i'll HAVE to spend some cash getting it looking ok on the inside haha. thanks 7 Quote

Brock Posted November 19, 2008 Author Report Posted November 19, 2008 haha i'd love an upgrade! but my funds and the P plate rules prohibits mods. thats why I'm trying to keep this as cop friendly as possible, but also a great drive (i want to start going to tracks), and for as cheap as possible. is all that even possible? haha Quote
