the same as what you would need for a 4age transplant. This means a t50 gearbox and everything else. What you need is the parts from a ae71 or ae86

Posted

you would need to swap to the crossmemer and mounts out of the ae86/ae71 also so no, no custom mounts.

a high pressure fuel pump woudl need to be fitted along with efi fuel lines.

In regards to the engine management system its tricky because the distributer nornally comes off the back of the engine and that wont fit in a rwd application. Someone in the forums managed to get over this by relocating the dizzy to run off the front of the engine.

I could probably help you with the parts to do the cooling system if you needed it seeing I might be doing something for my 7afe head sometime.

So why a 4afe specificly? did you get one cheap?

accually ive seen you tread.

nice work on the 20v

ill need to do the custom mount cause it is very hard to get parts for cars her in israel

so croosmembeor r and suff like that i don't want to try even

its the only toyota engine that i can get her, that and the carina 3 engine,

and i prefer this one

i understood that i need to change the distributor, the inlet manifol cause its facing the firwall and the oil sump,

is this right?

so whats a carnia 3 engine?

I need to double check the sump design on the 4afe, I believe theres a good chance it is compatable. Now to mod your crossmemer all you need to do is relocate the mount on one side to a different position and thats it. There was a photo on the forums a while back but I don't know where it is now.

Your right about the dizzy and the throttle body, there was various ways around this problem. I assume you would use the original wiring loom and ecu yes?

thants the thing

if ill need to use ITbs then ill have to use MS or somthing.

so if ill use that ill put 4 coil that runs on a wheel with a sensor.and then ill overide two problems at ones.

the thing I'm really woried about is the oil sump.if its made from aluminium then it will cost me my eye out.

can you check for me?

do you have msn messenger?

He ment the Carina E, we got em here powerd by a 3S-FE engine.. aint the best but i assume its better than a 4A-FE.

parts are way too hard if not impossible to obtain here in Israel, so we are looking for a cheap'ish but yet powerful engouh solution.

Probably both have the MA gearbox, however it is possible that different gear ratios have been used inside, but since the motor is the same, probably won't matter too much. Speedo may be inaccurate afterwards, and you may need to use your current speedo drive if one is electronic and the other cable driven (just use the whole gear assembly that bolts onto the box from your current car). Other potential difference is in the splines on the end of the halfshafts/driveshafts. The 206 MAY have larger diameter splines being a larger car, and because the track of the 106 will be smaller, you would not be able to use those and would have to get specials made up. Hopefully you will be able to check and make sure they fit before you buy the gearbox.
