wyldephyre Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 My tastes tend to change every so often. After a particularly stressfull week at work, I found myself with an overwhelming urge to listen to Doof. Stuff like Groove Armada, Faithless, that sort of thing. I also enjoy Jazz and Blues; Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, BB King, Ray Charles, that sort of thing. Rock bands I don't need to mention. Everyone probably knows all about them. Quote
Super Jamie Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 (edited) eminem limp bizkit NELLY the streets nerd crazytown system of a down nickelback instant remedy offspring the dirty dancing soundtrack creedence clearwater revival the beatles crystal method linkin park chemical brothers fischerspooner plus various assorted rab and rnb mostly dre/snoop style stuff. nameless dj remixes like WILD cds. i also like throwaway top40 stuff, except i hold onto it, i still listen to the ketchup song and mel c =) i like most music, i don't listen to classical by choice but i can appreciate it if it comes on. i have a soft spot for old funk, i reckon the good morning vietnam soundtrack was awesome i absolutely can't stand whiny condescending grandpa-clothes depressing college-student crap like something for kate, which is just about all triple j seems to play these days Edited March 17, 2005 by Super Jamie Quote

Mr Revhead[RL] Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 as i write this I'm listening to GNR, estranged. so into it!! so.... guns n roses led zepplin ozzy sabbath bon jovi stevie ray vaughan u2 (some) def leppard (only band EVER to have 2 albums sell 10 mill back to back) velvet revolver poison aerosmith zz top clapton blind melon van halen coverdale page whitesnake cindarella! skid row.... it oges on. as you can see I'm a rocker. i HATE rap and hip hop. not real music as as I'm concerned. whos going to rememebr 50 cent in 10 years?? no one. real bands are remembered, they create music, they don't use computers and dubbing techniques to make it sound good. real music should be anle to be playe dlive, and sound similar to whats on the record, eg guns n roses, aerosmith bon jovi.. all very very good live acts. real music is not some teenage gimp dancing round like his balls have just been snipped. or r2d2 shortcircuiting. Quote
rjenman Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Ah 50 cent will be remembered in 10 years. But yes most commercial rap is crap, its just a sad state of music industry we are pushing through. I also think computers are a very respectable tool to create or modify music with but the technology can be abused to make crap artists seem good. I do have utmost respect for a rock band that can pull together on command through pure skill and practise to make great music but on the other hand I respect a guy who sits in a room for a week to make an awesome track which can be replayed or remixed. Oh and I respect some rappers. I like a wide variety of stuff- Fear Factory <-(big favourite) Beastie Boys Rob Zombie White Zombie (more than rob's new stuff) Red Hot Chilli Peppers A Tribe Called Quest <-(big favourite) silverchair aphex twin infected mushroom muse soulfly sepultura my own music, which is just random hip hop sort of stuff but not the 'bonkers' range of techno pantera metallica random drum and bass artists (not an artist's name i jsut like drum and bass but if i ever make drum and bass i might call myself that, or not) xzibit combat wombat the gap band slipknot de la soul mudvayne i'm tired goodnight Quote
