Jason KE30 Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 That's one nice looking engine bay you got there my friend :D And those wheels look shmick as! Nice job! Quote
Taz_Rx Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 So you got new Brembo rotors? or rotors and pads? Are they made for a '55, or something else that happens to fit? More info please! :D Quote
Smithius Posted February 20, 2009 Author Report Posted February 20, 2009 just new brembo rotors, they are to fit a ke55 i got them from a mate through Sprint auto. they are nothing special, still solid's, no slots i don't think i would recomend them because they acctually only have 1mm thickness to machine off if need be, where as the stock toyota ones have 4mm i think Quote
Smithius Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 After a really long time between updates i thought i should tell you what i have been doing the wags. I got bored of the N/A setup in the car so i decided to have a go at supercharging the beast. Got myself an sc12 from another member on rollaclub and borrowed some supercharger brackets to suit an sc14 on a 4k just ot get some idea of how to mount it up. Well those brackets that i borrowed were shit to say the least, very backyarder spec, didnt line up with the holes very well. Now i should explain that I'm a fitter and turner by trade and i work with stainless steel all day so i have a bit of experince tig welding the stuff. I'm using a v6 commodore idler pulley modified to bolt on the front of the crank pulley with an alluminum spacer, i used this to get the ribbed belt pulley to suit the clutch on the supercharger. here are some photos of the setup so far.... Smithius Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 i should say that was the setup until a couple of weeks ago... i couldnt get the SU to work the way i wanted it to so i change it to a 40 dcoe weber so i could tune it better. i will get some photos up soon. the car is booked in to the carby place in a couple of weeks to get a proper tune because it feels like the car is running out of fuel. i can only get it to rev to around 4000rpm before is starts to hate life, so its going on the dyno to be tuned properly Quote
Smithius Posted May 7, 2011 Author Report Posted May 7, 2011 Here is a photo of the setup as it stands Quote
MattyZ Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 that looks killer, very neat setup any chance of more exterior/interior shots? Quote
Smithius Posted May 7, 2011 Author Report Posted May 7, 2011 To tell you the truth MattyZ, the car at the moment looks like a peice of crap. The paint job is an epic fail. Orange peel with massive craters. The interior isnt anything special. Just a few gauges and a steering wheel. When i get the motor sorted out properly i'll probably get started on the body work. The wheels that looked awsome in the photos now look like crap from sitting in the weather for over a year so i have to redo them again which is a pain in the ass. Quote
