Georgee Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Hey, I am interested in buying a KE30 4 door. I was wondering what engine i can put in it, and if i can do it legally. If you could give me some prices as well for how much it would cost to get engineered, and insurance if it's possible. (doubt it) What years did KE30 4 doors come out in? like 1976 to 1978? Oh, and whats the difference between the KE30 SE And KE30 CS? I live in Adelaide, South Australia. Thanks. Quote

I think SA is the same as most places, in NSW anymay, you can put 2.5x weight in kg = cc for turbo/supercharged, or 3 x for NA. For a ke30 that is about 800kg, it means 2lt turbo or 2.4 NA. Also, have you thought about a ke55, basicaly the same car. The 30/55 ran from 1974 through to about 81. Cheers, Ian Quote

towe001 Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 Oh, and whats the difference between the KE30 SE And KE30 CS? Trim levels C - is vinyl seats and a single speaker radio (four speed manual g'box ?) CS - is vinyl seats, radio, tape deck and two rear parcel shelf speakers (five speed manual g'box ?) SE - is cloth seats, radio, tape deck and two rear parcel shelf speakers (five speed manual g'box ?) Quote

My KE30 is getting a 4AGE 20V anyway :laff: Quote

Mine is a 1978 SE and came factory with a 4 speed manual and vinyl seats (i though CS stood for Cloth Seats) Anyway, hope this helps and good luck with choosing a LEGAL conversion. Matt. Quote

Spec order for KE55 (which I think was the same as KE30) was L - SE - CS - XX, from worst to best. I had an SE and it had vinyl seats, 4-speed and no rear speakers. Quote
