foxthor Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 So the car is just my streeter while i have a drift car used only at the track. But its in good nick and i want to mod it up a bit. I want to be able to spin the wheels and do dodgy street drifts and have enough power to keep up with a commo. Will a worked 4k ie. Webers, cam, exhaust be able to do this or should i just go straight for the 4age. I liek the idea of a nice sounding 4k but just want to know what u guys think and how quick are the 4k's really after all the work? Quote

Jono Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 turbo 4age and you'll be leaving behind a lot more than just a commodore. Quote
5elfori1 Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 from what i here if you wanna stay stock styles... you can go with a 7k and go nuts.. it would sound overrated.. because its still carby... but 4agze sure are sexy.. depends on the money.. Quote
luke.t. Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Hey mate..... I drove Roo's ke70 last weekend, it has a 4agze in it and man is that fun to drive. If you have the money get a 4agze. it will smash any poxy wogadore lol and it will rip mad skids :) Quote
ae174agze Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 i've driven a fairly worked 4k around for about a week or so (cam, carbie, compression, exhaust) and really there not all that great no offence to anyone that has one, lots of noise, lots of fuel, and you have to rev it to about 2500-3000 or else its flat and lumpy alright performance drove a ke70 4age just last week and it would have shat all over the worked 4k with still having the fuel efficiency of a twin cam 1.6 4cyl, driving fairly hard i recon about 8 liters per 100ks ze or te would be very cool, never driver a boosted 4age :) all my gear is still in the shed as the boggie engine i got has the compression of a inflated bike tire Quote
Roo Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 4k ftw, 4agze is shit i can only spin 4th Quote
coln72 Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 4k's are boat anchors :) go a 5k with similar mods. My 5k'd KE20 crapped all over a 4age KE35 when autocrossing. Quote
rob83ke70 Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 with a worked 4k the lighter the car the better it will be. 4k is the one to use because a 5k is just a smidge too big to fall into the "owner certified minor modifications" and requires (if only a basic) engineers report. the 4k will be lumpy. it will chomp fuel, and it will attract attention. oh and people will laugh when you pop the bonnet. but they can be made to go faster than a v6 commodore... oh and you will end up spending a lot more money on it than you think if you want it to go faster than a commodore. 4ag i have had nothing to do with yet. I would assume more reliable, faster and quieter/easier to drive. but you have to do a lot more wiring, and you need an engineers report. possibly bigger brakes as well. Quote
