MJOLNIR Fyre Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Righto guys. I know that this topic probably has been breached many many times. BUT. I've read as many topics as i can find and its an information treasure trove but i'd like it if u could all answer my question. So the deal is. Ive got an AE92 sedan. It's got the 4age stock engine. Soooo my thinking is easy as conversion to the 4agze. Take off the supercharger and move to a 'fist sized' turbo. Lets not talk about the intercooler and extra attachments. My main questions are Parts? Are they readily available as this will be a daily driver. Rebuild? I think unless i can get a good engine history then i gotta rebuild straight up.... Source? Is it better for me to source an AW11 engine or the AE106 engine? Bigger and Better? Will it be too much of a hassle to upgrade to better part and what not later down the track? :) Quote
Jono Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 legally you need an engine no older than your car, besides the AE92 GZE is the one you want with oil squirters, fatter rods and its smallport so your current inlet manifold can be re used. Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Ive got an AE92 sedan. It's got the 4age stock engine. Does Not Compute. Either it's not a sedan, or it's not the stock engine. 4AGEs only ever came out in the AE82 Twincam hatches and Secas, and the AE92/93 SX hatches and Secas. Quote

Hmmm... well now i didnt know that..... now i feel stupid..... i'll double check later thanks. Thinking maybe go 20V black anyway as ive discovered my venture is illegal for me even though a friend said the 4agze wasnt on the restricted list and it is. orangeLJ Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 anything with a turbo or supercharger is going to be illegal in NSW for a P plater.... Quote
