Johno Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 I went to the wreckers and took a grill off one car and put it on another and it was too big. Maybe your grill is different. I have the black horizontal venetian look grill. Quote
watty Posted February 20, 2009 Author Report Posted February 20, 2009 u could always buy the grille and just file a few mill off each side. wayne Quote
Ben-89 Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Hi Wayne, good work on finding the new grill, it looks much less fussy, are you going to paint it white to match the bumpers?. Johno, your'e Seca and my Hatch are series 1, made in 1985/86. Waynes model is the series 2 made from late 1986/89 that has a different grill and headlight setup. And as you said the series 2 grill is larger than the series 1, and does need pursuading to fit. Quote

Johno Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 hi overrated ke70 i won`t be painting it at the moment the whole car is being repainted a different color wayne Unless you really like sanding till your fingers bleed or spending 5k+ on a respray I wouldn't do it. Painting it same colour would be alright, just not a full colour change. Its a HUGE pain the the ass. Trust me... :) Quote
watty Posted February 23, 2009 Author Report Posted February 23, 2009 johno if i do a lot of sanding i buy a cheap pair of gloves i know what you mean about fingers bleeding i used to do fibreglassing when i was younger. Quote
watty Posted February 28, 2009 Author Report Posted February 28, 2009 this is what $50 and a few days work can do and it is far from finished. Quote
