Your alternator has a diode or two out I'd say. consdidering last time I looked at it the unit was charging, but there was no charge light coming on with ignition.

is it reparible or do i need a new alternator

Are the brushes on the alternator worn?

This may be a little to technical but you need to excite the alternator with a test light , checking the output Battery voltage with a Multimeter at the same time.

I already tested it on the vehicle, It needs to come out to be fixed...
