Hi Guys,

Its my first post, so please bear with me. I recently bought a Toyota Corolla KE30 (pictures attached), and now that winter is approaching here in the UK, needed advise on whats the best way to looking after it? And what should I especially look out for?

Any input would be great.

Regards

Ali

What exactly do you mean?

If i were living in cold conditions, i would-

1. Make sure there is anti-freeze in your cooling system,

2.change points and plugs and reset your timing, just so that it is easier to fire up on a cold start,

3. Change the setting of your air cleaner to "winter",

thats all i can think of now,

cheers phatke30!

Cheers both of you.

Just want to make sure it runs well, especially during the winter, hence best to take precautions earlier on.

In terms of rust, I have some Hammerite and Waxoyl stuff, hopefully that should do trick.

I'm not to entirely sure, but wouldn't you want better gripping tires.

**EDIT** OMG You got different bonnets to us!!

lOl, took ya long enough.

Actually I'd love to see more of this cars interior. I love the seats, are they original?? They also got different door trims. Looks like they didn't get a park brake light, but the handbrake does have something sitting at its base. :P

Are there many KE30's around there??

I love your passenger side mirror too.

apologies for the late reply.

unfortunately not many old corollas left in the UK, i was lucky to get this.........occasionally you might see a ke70 but still, ive never seen a ke20 or ke30 before in my life. people do comment on the car, generally everyone like it but commonly think its a Datsun rather than Toyota.

the bonnet does have vents, ill see if i can upload a clearer picture tomorrow.....took those pics in the rain. the car seats are original, it has been well looked after, has a clean interior. the only thing the interior needs is a new headlining or for it to be repaired, hopefully thats in the near future. there is park brake light on the right hand side, unless you mean something else.

only addition i have made is the car alarm and immobiliser system.

the passenger side mirror is just reflector, have ordered new chrome side mirrors should go well with the car.

thank you for the positive comments

Hi JiP_01

sorry for the late reply,

attached bonnet pics, vents included, also as promised pics of the seats (very comfortably)

just have a question to ask, do you know what that knob does near the base of the handbrake, i know you can tighten or loosen it?. also you are quite right, in that i only have parking brake light.

in the picture you provided, whats that next to the manual choke, don't seem to have it on mine.

Hey, with the know on the handbrake. Its just there to look pretty. If you undo it, it covers the handbrake cable. You should be able to adjust it from there as it would reveal the cable and a nut.

The knob next to the choke is the dash light adjuster. It controls how bright your lights are on your speed. So you don't have one??

For some odd reason, i think Australia were the only market to get this feature....Go figure
