trav_555 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 it can be done, type supercharger 4k in youtube, i think you use an sc12, theres a fair bit of information on how to do it, not to expensive, but depends what you want to spend, how much you do yourself and how long you want your lil 4k to last, i doubt you can do it to one, without a reground cam, well you just wouldnt and yea, look into it mate. WinKE55 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 SC12 and SC14 is usually used. People also prefer turbos instead of super chargers, though depends on what you prefer and where you want the power to kick in. Depends if you make it forced induction with a carby or EFI system will probably help determine your price range too. Maybe do a bit more research? Quote

Travis Nothing could be further from the truth!!! You'd be better off with a stock cam for a slightly worked motor. Duration is more inportant in a forced inducted motor. If you have too much overlap it'll just blow it all out the exhaust. Deffinately do yourself some research mate. :) Quote
trav_555 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 o really!! i was just reading about with bigger turbos on rb26det's that you change cam to get it better performance, you learn something new everyday, cheers. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 What sort of power are these rb26dett making? You probably find they're getting right up there with turbos that don't spool up until like 4000-5000rpm. In this case a "big cam" can still be the go for basically a fully worked motor. For a much more user freindly ever day type car the stock lump stick is the way to go. Also bare in mind that a superchargers power range is more so low-mid RPM, instead of mid-high like a turbo. So a stock cam again is looking better. :) Quote
WinKE55 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 (edited) I agree with what Taz types, stock cames are better suited for Forced Induction vehicles. Unless your 4k is making like 500-800hp? Which I doubt yours will be. Edited October 7, 2008 by WinKE55 Quote
SLO-030 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 (edited) if your making 500-800hp or even 300hp from a K engine, I think your lying haha Edited October 7, 2008 by KE25 KID Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 surely you can get a cam reground to aim the power down low. say from idle to 5k, and wouldnt that help with a supercharger? all that down low power on tap would be nice Quote
SLO-030 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 I think i should stop telling Myles all my plans for my next rolla. Quote
trav_555 Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 yea after you said that taz, i thought, o durr superchargers need it low and more constant, a turbo kicks in between certain rpm, durr lol. rb26dett make alot of power, rumours are over 1000hp with stock internals>don't think so though, i wouldnt try to do that if i had one.
