ke30dude Posted November 8, 2008 Author Report Posted November 8, 2008 :y: And here we are, The thing didnt want to be a good boy and play so we had to push it on and off the trailor. Will start ripping it to bits this afternoon maybe. Quote
bLinded_ Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Sounds like a good plan with using the better shell. Should be a great daily after the drive line and panel swapping is done. Just give it a new coat of paint and it'll be awesome :y: Quote
ke30dude Posted November 8, 2008 Author Report Posted November 8, 2008 Today was the first time I had driven my commodore in about 6 months. going from a stock 4k to a 3.8l 200hp v6 made me feel like skaifey lol. My front yard looks good with the two kesevs out the front. Quote
ke30dude Posted November 9, 2008 Author Report Posted November 9, 2008 Today we got stuck into it, front end is going to the scrapyard when I have the trailer next, I will be fitting up the flat front sometime soon. The 4k in it is the best part of f@$ked, it will start and run but knocks really hard and does not have enough power to move it. All the radiator support and under guards has been sprayed with sound deadener/under body sealant early this afternoon. after the front is done I will be starting on fitting the new power plant. MaximusPsychosis Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 oh my, I'd never thought to see her striped so, quickly... well, at least the car is getting a new heart and soul, something that I couldn't afford to do (heverns wanted $500 for a motor and gear box for that car, hence why I got the other car for $400)... oh, found my spanner in there yet? Heverns want everything for nothing, that being said though, I would have a field day in that yard of theirs. I lost the keys LOL, havent been able to get in the cabin as of yet, I will look in there when I find they key and let you know. If you need any help with your ae80 lemme know and I will see what I can do! Cheers. Quote
MaximusPsychosis Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 now who in the right frame of mind loses keys... I know I do it almost every day! (maybe that's why i can't find that spanner) Who wouldn't have a field day in there! hell, I've seen about 3 ke70 in there (or may its them hounda look-a-likes O_o) on the other hand, I'm positive you ask politely you can go salvaging in there for a fee of the product you get out of it (I'm positive someone has done it before, for a radiator part)... I might ask them, could be wrong :-? oh, like the paintbrush dipsticks? that was Not my idea! (maybe that's why the 4k was dying, to much fiber in its diet...) eheh, mesa almost hogging your ride topic :-P Quote
ke30dude Posted November 9, 2008 Author Report Posted November 9, 2008 To those reading that arent from my area. hevern motors is a 50-80's car persons wet dream, litterally hundreds of cars wedged in this yard, corollas to Chryslers to holdens to falcons, you can find just about anything in there. Then out of town a bit there is their farm which is equally as chokkers! Though parts from them come as a price, they wanted $80 for a ke20 tailshaft! Maximuspsychosis: I got into it, only thing I have found in there so far is a old AM radio from a commodore or something. Quote
ke30dude Posted November 10, 2008 Author Report Posted November 10, 2008 put on the flat front panels today, main problem with the flat fron conversion is mounting the headlights, I will just drill holes to suit. Also the panel between the bonnet and windscreen doesnt match the bonnet but I will try and get it out of the old car. Also took my original ke70 for its last drive ever today, tomorrow I will be pulling the motor from it, kind of sad really, it was so fun to drive. Quote
ke30dude Posted November 11, 2008 Author Report Posted November 11, 2008 the motor from the old ke70 along with the manual gearbox is out after about an hr work this morning. JUst gotta pull out the skanky auto and stuffed 4k from the new car and throw it in. :bash: Once the motor is in I will jsut give it a coat of primer then maybe gloss black, or white after I get the small amount of rust welded up. Then maybe I will have a hit at getting it thru rego. Quote
ke30dude Posted November 12, 2008 Author Report Posted November 12, 2008 nothing is holding the engine in the new car now, just gotta go pick up the crane and new motor from my fathers tomorrow. Quote
