Tume Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 (edited) G'day, In another thread I wrote that I found I needed a new carby that has a throttle positioner and assumed I had one that was from an automatic due to Gregorys. *Check Attachments for the area in which I mean*. My question is, why is my carby different? What use would it have if all of them were the same and all had the throttle positioner? Because of that I'm curious as to why my carby doesn't have a throttle positioner on it if all Aisian Carby's are the same. Again check attachments to see what I mean. The strange Gold picture is the throttle positioner in my Sigma. Edited October 1, 2008 by Tume Quote
sammo[RL] Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 What you've got there is a 3k carby, and 4k book/photos. Early 3ks didn't have all the extra emissions stuff on them, and are far simpler. 4ks had more stuff on them eg hoses, thermostatic valves and throttle positioners. Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 I'll check the yellow book tonight, pretty sure it covers pretty much all of the K-engines before 1978 (including 4KC) Quote

That would explain why the throttle positioner isn't there. Thanks. Although it does raise more queries for me to look into.
